I purchased this watch last summer from Argos. At that time, it was originally priced at £49.99 but had gone down to £12.99 in their end of catalogue sale. It is still available from Argos this year for the lovely sum of £10.99 which is an absolute bargain.
The watch is from an extensive jewellery and watch range by Coleen Rooney (Wayne Rooney's wife). This may or may not put people off but if the idea of wearing a watch by a WAG does put you off it really shouldn't as this is a fabulous watch. It is a ladies watch.
The watch comes in a really nice presentation box. The box it comes in is black with "Coleen" written across the box in the style of what I assume is her signature in bright pink. It is a classy looking box and it is lined inside with a black satin like cushion with foam to protect the watch whilst it is stored inside.
The watch itself is very pretty. The case of the face of the watch is encrusted with clear crystals which shimmer slightly when the sunlight hits them. The watch face itself has Roman numerals and there are tiny crystals on the face set at each hour. The watch face is quite big and very easy to see. The hands and the numerals are all silver as is the casing of the face. The watch face also "Coleen" in a small font in the same signature font which appears on the gift box.
The strap is a black leather strap and is quite sturdy. It is not at all flimsy. It is quite rigid when you first put it on but it soon softens to the shape of your wrist. The strap has an almost crocodile skin effect to it. It does up with a silver claps with the little clip to go through the holes in the strap, making the watch adjustable.
This is a very reliable watch and ever since I have had it (which is a year now) it has always kept the time well. It has never lost or gained time. I runs really well and there is no ticking noise like you can get with some watches. Also, I haven't had to change the battery yet either (though now I have said this, I will probably have to!)
This watch is not just aimed at teenage girls. It has a much classier look than just a teenage watch. There is no garishness with this watch. It is simple and classy with that touch of extravagence with the crystals. I never thought it was worth its original £50 price tag (but I don't think any watch is worth more than £20!) but it is definately worth the bargain price Argos have it for now.
Don't be put off by the fact that it is an item by Coleen Rooney. Most people wouldn't even notice. And it is far too nice a watch to be ignored just because of who endorses it. A well worth buying watch which I couldn't recommend more.
