Advantages: Stylish, reliable (so far!), can be worn when dressing down or dressing up

Disadvantages: Bit heavy for small wrists, diesel strip on watch

Last year I had been frantically searching for a watch that I'd like and as every discerning person will tell you buying the right watch is crucial. Its foolhardy to just buy one on the strength of how it looks in a picture on the internet. Far better is to find one in the shops, take a look at it and try it on for size.

I am not a huge fan of Diesel products, usually the fashion behind the item is a bit too loud, it tries a little bit too hard, but when I saw this watch in Debenhams the style was stylish and not too overstated.

This watch is fine for every day use or as a backup to your existing watch. It is a smart, fashion watch so you can easily get away with this in a dry office environment, or somewhere much more creative. I was initially concerned the that the face was too large, but it is not uncomfortable. I would say if you are female (I believe its considered a unisex watch?!) that you probably wouldn't want to buy this watch if you have small wrists.

I like this watch because it has a combination between the retro and modern - the light silver blue colour of the clock face goes really well with the surrounding silver steel design. The retro comes in with the brown, leather strap and the slightly 50's style TV set shape of the frame. On the other hand I find the 24 hour smaller clock on the inside pretty pointless and don't really see the need for a thin black strip with Diesel on the watch either. However, those are minor annoyances.

The watch itself comes in a fashionable white box, a huge instructions booklet in many languages and what looks like a mini pillow that the watch can be displayed about. I'm not hugely keen on the box, but perhaps it an go for a fiver on ebay.

I paid £64 for the watch at Debenhams, which was competitive back in November, but it looks like Amazon now have them (link above) for £56. Go check it out in the shop first and if you like it buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: If you are looking for a watch check it out!
