I bought this watch about 3 years ago as a present for the boyfriend. I've decided to review it now as we found it again over the Christmas break and were remembering how good a watch it was (It's broken at the moment). I bought it for £79.99 a few years ago from H. Samuel where it was in a range of Diesel watches they sold. As you can see here by the Amazon link, this model has come down substantially in price and now retails for about £43. The watch is a classic sort of Diesel design; classically masculine but urban and easy to wear. I don't think this watch looks out of place worn with a suit at the office or with jeans and a hoody at the weekend which is one of the things which attracted me to it. It has a square face and the lines representing the numbers go round in a circle (as you would expect!) with just a big 9 for reference. This makes it a bit harder to tell the time with a quick glance but it looks less cluttered. Down the left hand side of the face there is a split level section (Shown on the picture) this says Diesel on it and it just adds a nice touch and a design-y edge typical of the Diesel brand. On the reverse of the face is a big picture of an Indian brave and lots of Diesel writing. I actually engraved around this a quick love note as it was a birthday present. It was fairly easy to engrave there just isn't much space because of the big picture. There is a wide square buckle which is easy to do one handed and the holes for the buckle to catch into are rectangular too. The strap is brown leather and you can't see the pins or how they go in as it is smooth on the underside. This makes it comfortable to wear as there are no parts to rub on your wrist. This is unfortunately where we've had problems... The boys watch has rubbed through due to a lot of wear and the strap leather has come apart near the pin causing it to come undone. Because of the discreet way the pins go into the watch it is not easy to fix or to replace the strap which is really annoying. He tried just using tape and a plaster to hold it back together but this didn't really work and is of course not a long term situation. Taking it back to H Samuel to find out what we should do they told us we could send it to be mended for £40. This doesn't seem to make much sense because he could have a whole new one for £40. Also right now we don't actually have that much spare money so it is sitting on a shelf awaiting a decision and some money.. I might get some Amazon vouchers together from here and use that to buy a new one! It will just be a shame to lose the engraved watch face and the sentimentality. Anyways apart from the weak strap, this is a stunning, all occasions watch and a good looking Diesel watch.
