I have always been quite a fan of Diesel when it comes to watches. I feel a lot of their watches look great and are more of a fashion statement than anything else, but if this is what you are after then they are great! I have had this watch for around a year and I love it. I opted for the black strap as it wouldn't get as dirty and the strap is still in pretty good position. The strap is made of real leather so is of good quality as with the rest of the watch.
This Quartz watch displays digital time and also has an alarm clock and stopwatch on it, so it's quite multi-functional. The display does light up well at the touch of a button - ideal for when it's dark. The watch face has a metallic surrounding and a few lines separating different parts of it, which I feel is quite unique.
At the top you will find the date, which includes the day of the week along with date and month. The middle section, which appears to be the largest displays the time and you also have seconds in the bottom right corner. Another section comes into use when you are scrolling through the modes. There is a Diesel logo on the lower portion of the metallic surrounding so you can tell the brand quite easily and quickly! It has a very simple but unique look.
The watch has excellent time keeping. I have set it to some really accurate clocks that you cannot fault such as when I visited Greenwich where GMT originates. It has kept amazing time since then and this encourages me to believe Diesel don't just make stylish watches, but quality accurate ones too. I find the watch really easy to use with a couple of large buttons on the sides. The time is easy to read as it's quite large and bang in the centre of the face.
The alarm on the watch is pretty good but could be louder. I have woken up to it previously when I forgot to charge my phone so decided to try the watch out, but it wasn't the most alarming alarm clock! The stopwatch is good and a useful addition to the watch - very accurate too. I'd say this watch was for formal and casual occasions but I wouldn't go wearing it to the beach or anything as it'd just get ruined.
The RRP is at around £100 but you can find it for more or less £60-70 now, which is a pretty good price to pay for this decent and stylish watch. It is actually uni-sex too apparently but I'd certainly rather imagine this one on a guy than girl.
Thanks for reading
I am not really a huge fan of watches and don't really use them too much. I did finally though opt to get a new watch as I hadn't got a proper one for about 8 years .I wanted to go for something quite stylish as well as something that could obviously tell the time.
I came across this chronograph watch from Diesel which had a black leather strap as well as a funky digital display. The watch is described as featuring a retro-style LCD display, with date, month and also other features. I did shop around to look at differences in prices and finally bought of the Shade Station website. The price at the time was just over the £70 mark with delivery charges. Prices do vary slightly at different places with the rrp being £99 I believe.
The watch is fastened with a strap buckle and it is also meant to be water resistant to 50 metres. There is also a countdown timer, stopwatch, alarm and light.
Diesel is more known as a fashion and clothes brand especially for their jeans. They are not one of the most common or well known names when it comes to watches but they do seem to have a wide range now on offer. This watch in particular stood out for me due to its design and attractiveness in general. The watch came in a nice presentation box and also came with a big fat instruction manual.
Now the watch did look quite good but one of the problems I had initially was setting the time on it. I guess that is quite important in a watch but the instruction manual that came with the watch wasn't that useful in this aspect as it had instructions for a range of diesel watches and it was quite difficult to find the watch I had bought and how to set the time on it. I did though eventually manage to do this but it is something that Diesel could probably make easier to do for someone buying a watch.
Also seeing the display and the time in certain types of light can be difficult making it difficult to read if you look at it at from the wrong angle. In darker conditions with less light, it can also be hard to read but that is why there is a backlight which you can use in these situations.
Overall I would say this is a stylish watch and is definitely good to look at. In terms of functionality it can be improved. If you are more after style over substance then this watch is probably recommended. 4/5 stars
