Advantages: A very pretty watch

Disadvantages: A bit delicate for every day

As you will see from previous reviews I do have several watches, one of which is my main everyday watch along with a couple of others I occasionally wear. I bought the Dolce & Gabbana C'est Chic watch a few years ago now, being into all things pink and pretty I was attracted my the sparkly stones which cover the watch, and the fact that you could get it in pink was even better. Despite hardly ever wearing now I do still have it, however it is not the most practical watch in the world.

The D&G C'est Chic watch has what I would call quite a square appearance. The strap is a bracelet style strap, the version I have has a small hinge on the back of the bracelet strap, this opens out to make the watch easier to slip on and off your wrist. The strap measures about 8" in circumference, the clip has a small hinge which is released by pressing the 2 tabs on either side, the clip opens in the middle adding an extra 2.5" onto the size of the bracelet, this makes the watch that little bit easier to get over your hand. The entire this is covered with small pale pink crystals, apart from the fastening clip which is shiny silver in colour with the words D&G Dolce and Gabbana written in non shiny silver on one side of the clip.

The watch face sits in the middle of the strap, this too is surrounded by the same pale pink stones and a very thin shiny stainless steel boarder. The face itself is approximately 0.5" wide and 1" in length, it is shiny pink with D&G in silver letting at the top. The watch face has no numbers on it at all and shiny silver hands, the fact that there are no numbers on the watch can make it a little hard to tell the time with sometimes, especially if you glance at the watch quickly. Personally I did not find this too much of a problem but some people may not get on with a watch of this style.

The D&G C'est Chic watch is not waterproof, it is classed as bath water resistant (written in small lettering on the back of the watch face) or I have read that it is 'splash proof', the watch would probably be ok if you were to say wash up wearing it and splashed water onto it, however I have never worn mine near water so am unsure as to how much water it could actually cope with. The watch comes across as being quite delicate rather than robust so personally I do not think it would withstand very much water at all.

As I have said the D&G C'est Chic watch is quite delicate and fragile, The whole bracelet strap is made of rows of the pale pink crystals set in small silver holders, all linked together (all silver metal parts are made from stainless steel) personally I think that this makes the watch strap easy to break, With my D&G watch I find that some of the links do come apart, I have been able to push the links that have come apart back together, however this has weakened them and the links which have come apart have continued to do so. Also I have already lost a couple of stones out of my strap, that is from only wearing the watch on nights out, I really do not think that this watch would be suitable for everyday use, if the watch was worn everyday I really do think that more stones would be lost and more links would come apart. So overall I would not say the D&G watch is particularly strong as an everyday watch.

So far my watch has kept very good time and I did not have to replace the battery for a very long time. Replacing the battery is quite simple, there are 4 very small screws on the back of the watch face which need to be removed before opening the battery compartment. You could do this yourself however personally I would recommend taking it to a jewellers to get the battery replaced as you do need a set of miniature screwdrivers to do this. I take mine to a local independent jewellers to get the battery replaced and it cost me as little as £3 to £4 which personally is worth the money to ensure the watch is taken apart and reassembled correctly.

I bought my D&G C'est Chic watch from a local independent jewellers however this watch can also be bought at many other jewellers and outlets including John Lewis as well as many online stores. The D&G watch had not been released long when I bought mine and it cost about £175.00 , however the price does depend on where you buy the product from. The C'est Chic is now £250.00 from the official D&G shops and websites.

I would say that this watch is probably more suited to the younger customer, and more suited to a night out rather than everyday use as I have mentioned previously. However I would recommend this watch as it is a very pretty watch which would brighten up any outfit, the sparkly bracelet strap really would make a statement. Despite being quite delicate, as long as you treat the watch with care then you can keep it in good condition. I have admittedly lost a stone out of mine, however I have had the watch several years now and it has had a lot of use. So overally I think the D&G C'est Chic watch is an excellent watch for a night out and is something a little bit different to everyday jewellery.

Summary: A great sparkly addition to any outfit
