great for kids big and small

I have been having a love affair with Flik Flak watches since 1996 when I got my first one. Now, 12 years later, I'm still wearing them (yes, I'm 24. But I like them and they're fun). They've never worn out - even the first one is still ticking away - I just get bored occasionally and get a new one, because they're pretty damn cheap for a watch that doesn't wear out.

I've built up a small collection over the years but this one in particular stands out for me because a) I bought it on holiday in the Swatch shop on Times Square, and b) I have a thing about dinosaurs. And of course it's immensely practical - neutral earthy colours mean I can wear it with almost everything; the fabric strap is easily washable and the clock itself is waterproof (to a point, I forget what depth); the battery is easy to replace, although it generally lasts for years; the face has big bold numbers and hands.

As a result of these features it's a perfect kid's watch. On the downside the Flik Flak brand in my experience is only really available in Swatch shops, which you will only find in big cities and at major airports and train stations. But definitely worth the trip if you've got kids and want a fun, long-lasting birthday present.
