“ Brand: Fossil / Watches for Women „
Having fallen in love with a number of Fossil products in their shop in Birmingham, I decided to take a look at the Fossil website (www.fossil.co.uk) when I got home. On the website one watch stood out for me and that was the Fossil "Blueberry" (Style No. JR9149) watch (from the Woman's range).
The Fossil "Blueberry" watch has a striking blue (think cyan) dial with silver hands (3 - hour, minute & second) set in a stainless steal surround. It shows the numbers 6, 9 and 12, with the date (day of the month) where the number 3 would be, and lines to indicate the other numbers on the clock. The watch is set on a genuine dark brown leather strap, which is wide (26mm to be more exact) and like a cuff strap. The strap has 4 blue (light blue & dark blue) stitched flower details, 2 either side of the watch. The watch is finished off with a stainless steel buckle clasp. The back of the strap has the Fossil logo stamped into it along with the words "Genuine Leather" and the style number (JR9149).
I loved the look of the watch so much that I ordered it straight away, despite the £65 price tag (twice as much as I've paid for watches in the past). My only concern was that it might not fit my wrist very well... I have small-ish wrists and at times I've had to get another hole punched into my watch straps so they would fit. However, there was no need for me to do that with this watch as the 3rd smallest hole is the perfect fit. Saying that, there is also plenty of length in the strap for those with bigger wrists.
The watch arrived beautifully presented in a lovely Fossil branded tin and I've still got the tin a year later!
As promised by the website, the watch strap is comfortable to wear, as well as being lovely and soft. It feels comfortable whether worn tight or loose. In the past I've always worn watches tight as they've felt uncomfortable when loose, however this watch feels good either way.
I was a little worried that the stitching detail of the flowers on the strap might start to look tatty or come adrift after a while, but I've had the watch a year now and the stitching is fine, so no worries there.
This watch is water resistant up to 3 ATM, which basically means for normal daily water contact (rain, splashed water, washing up etc). It also has a 2 year limited warranty.
So, all in all, I still love my Fossil watch a year after buying it and wearing it every day. It's a great quality watch and looks good too. I certainly wouldn't hesitate in buying another Fossil watch should the need arise (but I hope it won't for quite some time yet!).
