One hell of an expensive present but well worth it!

I recently became a proud owner of a Gucci watch. I was in complete shock when I received it this Christmas, as I'm used to having cheap and cheerful novelty items but hey - I won't complain :) The retail price for the watch is £490 - A LOT to pay for a watch but essentially you're paying for the designer label.

The piece belongs to the tornabuoni collection which consists of 3 colour variations: black, silver and pearly white. The watch is made from stainless steel in a bracelet design with a jewellery clasp fastening. The face is set in a stainless steel casing and measures 19 ½ mm x 18 ½ mm. It has a stylish black dial composed of sapphire crystal of which is scratch resistant, with 4 diamonds set at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions. The time is measured by means of quartz movement and the watch is water-resistant to about 30 metres - but I don't think I'd ever go swimming and leave this watch on. The piece comes thankfully with a 2 year warranty and is also Swiss made, so you can be sure quality is certainly not lacking.

I can't deny how much I love the elegant and stylish look of the watch - not to mention the label it carries. But I certainly wouldn't spend almost £500 on a watch - well... maybe if I had some to spare. Despite preferring bangle watches, I usually opt for material strapped watches, as through having usually tiny wrists they never fit well enough. When I received this present - I wasn't taking this one back, they'd have to fight it from my clutching hands. Eventually, my dad being quite the handyman, volunteered to fix it for me. After nailing out a few links rather brutishly, I was left with a beautiful and miraculously un-harmed watch that actually fitted like a glove. :)

To anyone looking for a beautiful and good quality watch but don't mind the price-tag, this is the watch for you - highly recommended!
