Although I already had two Kahuna watches this one caught my eye when I was browsing Amazon. As it was so pretty and only £19.95 I decided to treat myself. Kahuna are a Hawaiian brand which have been making both fashion and sports watches for more than 14 years. In Hawaii according to ancient history the name "Kahuna" is awarded only to someone or something which is respected and admired.

My watch came packaged in a small square fabric pouch along with a 2 year manufacturers guarantee which covers most things except normal wear and tear. The pouch was plain black with the Kahuna logo in pale blue along one side and a zip to open it. I like the pouch as a way to store loose change or a small phone but it wasn't appropriate as packaging for the watch. It was tightly crammed in and the softness of the pouch didn't offer much protection. I felt the watch deserved a much more elegant packaging design to do it justice.

The design of this watch is very unique and is what drew me to it in the first place. The most striking feature is the light cream coloured strap which has a lovely pink, blue and green scenic layer underneath that can be seen through a series of small cut-outs. This gives both a feminine and tropical, outdoorsy feel to the watch and looks fantastic. The strap feels quite strong and well-made and is showing no signs of wear after several months of use. The clock face is rectangular and has a cream base matching the strap with polished gold hands, markers and surrounding case. There is a pink second hand and kahuna logo which compliments the gold nicely.

As you would expect it is very simple to use. The time can be set by pulling out and turning a discrete knob at the side and pushing back in to confirm the time. My watch has done a brilliant job at keeping an accurate time so far and I have never had any problems with it. The dark gold against the light cream make it very easy to tell the time. It does lack numbers however and so may not be suitable for younger users. The watch is lightweight and feels lovely to wear. Most of the time I completely forget I have it on. It is done up using a thick buckle which I find is fairly easy to use.

Overall a lovely watch which is pretty without being overly fancy. It looks high-quality and feels very well-made and so should last a while yet. I would recommend if you want to treat either yourself or some else.
