I was initially attracted to this watch by the colour which I really like. The same design is also available in a nice bright pink colour. There is a date display on the face which shows what day it is (but not the month). I like how it is small and discreet so it does not detract from the look of the clock face. I also like it that the clock has a small face as I have narrow wrists and watches with large faces just tend to look silly on me.
This watch has a Velcro strap which is really quick and convenient to fasten and unfasten without having to fiddle around. It also means you can adjust it exactly the right amount for your wrist which cannot really be done for watches with a buckle and holes spaced out along the strap.
It has an adjustable dial around the edge of the clock face which has a little arrow printed on it and can be used as a sort of timer. I have found this useful on occasion, to remind myself when I put something in the oven for example. However, it is not a very sophisticated timing device and is probably more for decoration rather than anything else.
It is not just splash resistant but waterproof up to 50m. It is not specifically designed for swimming though as the strap is fabric and gets soggy so you will want to take it off for a while and let it dry out. However it is still useful because you don't have to worry about what will happen if you are on a boat trip and you fall in or if you get wet on a log flume at a theme park etc. Mine has been underwater and is perfectly fine. It has never had condensation under the glass which can be a problem for some other watches. Just be aware that if you take it to a jeweller to get the battery changed, it may no longer be waterproof depending on what service you pay for.
One downside is that the strap is fabric and quite a light coloured material so after a while it can get grubby. However because the watch itself is waterproof, you can clean it without having to worry about ruining it.
Around the time of my last birthday, I was really into the colour turquoise, so my husband bought me a new watch just because he knew I would love the colour.
I have different watches depending on what I am doing. This watch is more of a day wear watch as it's very sporty, so I often wear it when I am out on a walk etc as I can time myself with an added extra on the watch.
Appearance wise, the watch is a lovely vibrant turquoise with a fairly small watch face and finished off with a Velcro strap that is adjustable. I find the strap to be very comfortable as it can be wrapped around to fit to suit, rather than finding it's just a little too tight, or a little too loose.
The face of the watch also has an outer dial that can be used as a timer rather than having to remember what the time was when you started. It's not very scientific, and I cannot actually decide if it's needed on the watch or not, but it does have its uses for me.
The Velcro strap is adorned with a pretty flowery pattern that makes the watch very feminine for a sporty style watch. I was impressed that despite being a large amount of Velcro, it hasn't attracted a lot of fluff and "bits" that Velcro can sometimes get.
The face of the watch doesn't show any individual numbers so the display won't suit everyone. I don't personally find it a problem that it's just dashes in place of numbers. There is a handy little date display area on the side of the face, but it's quite small and I never use it to check the correct date as I forget it's there.
As I didn't choose the watch myself, I didn't buy it for its waterproof resistance. Despite it being waterproof up to 50m, I haven't tested it out in water as I am always a bit too wary of ruining a watch despite its claims. It has survived many a rain shower though so I know it does work to some extent for splashing at least.
I have found the watch to keep good time over the last year I have owned it. I have never had to replace to battery which is good. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this watch, but it has proved me very well and after doing some sneaky research I noticed that my husband only paid £24.99 for it which is very reasonable for a named watch when you compare to some high street brands.
Overall, I have been very pleased with my present, and I still wear it occasionally. There haven't been any signs of wear and tear to the strap or coming away from the watch face. If you're looking for something different in a watch then you could do worse than this one.
