I don't know what possessed my friend to buy me this me to you watch for Xmas last year as I am hardly a girly girl but of course I feigned delight at my gift before my daughter stole it from me and wore it to school every day!
I have no idea what the popularity of me to you bears is all about, for some reason they seem to be an acceptable gift to give to grown women and of course they are meant to squael and find them cute or something. Call me hard hearted but I did not even like teddy bears when I was a child, my daughter seems to have that missing "awwwww cute" response which is missing in me and the fact this has the genuine branded teddy looking as if it is about to give someone a hug was a hit with her.
The strap is leather and is nice and soft, the fact it has a small cheap looking love heart attached to the strap does make it less comfortable to wear as it can hit off your wrist. The watch strap is an average strap for a woman's watch and fit my fat wrist on the longest setting but was far more comfortable on my daughter's average sized wrist. It would be too long for most children but would fit a teenager or adult nicely. The strap has lasted well over the past few months, the leather is starting to crack now but that is after a lot of use. The face is 2.5cm in diameter which is a good size for a teenager meaning it doesn't look too conspicuous and clunky or delicate but accessorises nicely, the sparkly jewels around the edge have not fallen out and add a nice bit of sparkle.
The watch is analogue with the hands moving silently round the face. The display is easy to read with the black numbers showing up well even against the teddy. It has kept perfect time, it is easy to change the time with a turn of a wee knob at the side.
The fact the watch is blue and cutesy means it will put a lot of people off buying it but for a girly girl it is a cute present which is high quality.
As soon as I seen me to you bears in clintons card shop a few years ago now I was smitten so sweet and cute, I actually have a good collection of the teddies' spread around my room. Me to you bears are from a company named carte blanche, the bears are grey with little blue noses. As well as the teddies carte blanche now dome to you bear clothing, jewellery, bath products, and even a pet range.
I bought a me to you bear watch from argos nearly two years ago now. My me to you bear watch cost £14.99, I think that's very reasonable. I have only seen the watches for sale in argos and watts in our local shopping centre however they are widely available online for the same price.
My me to you bear watch come in a lovely square box all lined with cream velour material. The box is lovely and has illustrations of the me to you bears all over the box. I was also pleased with the watch having a years guarantee with it that has run out now though.
There are loads of different designs of the me to you bear watches to choose from with different faces and coloured straps.
My watch has the baby blue coloured leather strap. The strap is quite thin and the claps is easy to do up. The watch strap fits my wrist perfectly much to my surprise , I have very dainty wrists and always have to have extra holes punched into my watch straps.
The watch face is an easy to read and is an analogue. Even though the background of the face is white and the numbers being silver the numbers really stand out.
I like the hands of the face too because they are baby blue coloured and also stand out being a different colour from the numbers but matching in with the bear and watch strap. Clearly my favourite part of the watch is the cute me to you bear on the watch face, he is grey with his blue nose and has a blue t-shirt standing posing. The bear is softly drawn and stands out more as if he has a soft glow around him.
The watch is silver plated but during my use of this watch it has not tarnished and still looks nice and shiny, their is also a charm hanging down from the silver border around the face. My charm is a star with tiny indents around it this is also silver plated and has not tarnished or fallen off.
My me to you bear watch has lasted well, i did wear it everyday for work. Sadly now after two years the batteries has gone and the strap has started to thread. I know I could have these replaced but it would cost just as much so plan to buy another me to you bear watch in the future. I still feel the watch lasted well for the price and i really love it.
The watch is perfect for casual practical everyday use.
I would recommend this watch and think it would make a super gift amongst the me to you bear fans.
As you will know from any of my previous reviews I love watches! One of my Christmas presents this year was a new watch which I could tell even before I opened it!! However when I opened it I was surprised to see that it was a Me To You watch as this was something I would never have chosen to buy for myself even though they are very cute.
The watch comes in a strong plastic case which is a pale blue base with a clear lid so you can clearly see the design of the watch inside. The lid is held on with tape which I thought seemed a bit cheap, and you can either remove all the tape so the lid is completely removed, or just from one side so the box opens like a normal watch case.
The watch itself is a lovely looking one, the strap is pale blue and has a leather look to it but it feels more like a soft plastic vinyl. The watch face is set on a silver base and has a cute little Me To You bear in the centre with its arms outstretched like it is wanting to give you a cuddle! The numbers and the hands are also silver which stand out well against the pastel blue background of the face. Surrounding the face of the watch are small diamantes which really sparkle in the light and is a lovely touch. My favourite thing about the watch is that there is a small silver heart dangling from the base of the face which, just like the diamantes sparkle in the light. At the right hand side of the face is the usual small knob which you can use to set the time. Another feature of the watch is that the hands have a glow in the dark strip on which is great for telling the time in the night, because if you're like me and wake up loads in the night there's nothing worse than having to turn your mobile on to see the time!!
I have found that the watch is extremely comfortable to wear and although it is automatic to presume this is a childrens or teenagers watch it is plenty big enough for my wrists with a few holes left over should it need to be looser for any reason. One thing I would maybe say about this watch is that it doesn't seem as though it would be very resistant should it be knocked or banged with any force and I say this as it does appear to be a little flimsy.
The cost of the Me To You watch is currently £11.99 on Amazon which is a decent price to pay for a nice looking watch. With your purchase you will find paperwork under the watch which contains your 12 month guarantee, this gives you all the details of the process of returning the watch should it require a repair.
All in all I think this is a really nice watch and would make an ideal present for any Me To You fan. While I do like the design and feel of the watch, it isn't one I would wear everyday but then again I do swap and change my watches regularly!!
Thank you for reading my review :)
