I was very fortunate to receive a Michael Kors watch for my 21st birthday. My family put together and bought me one as I had said for a while I would love one but just couldn't afford to spend over £200!
My family chose the watch for me as a surprise. I wasn't overly fond of the Rose gold colour at first as I have always found Rose Gold can look quite cheap. However with the design of the watch makes it look expensive and I have grown to love it!
The watch came in a black Michael Kors box with some extra links which you normally find with watches. I haven't need them as I have really small wrists infact I had to take some links out of the watch as it was too big for me.
I have kept the box and always put the watch back in after wearing as it stops it getting scratched by any other jewellery in my jewellery box. I have found it does mark easy and because of the colour it is noticeable. I have paid to have it polished up before to keep it in good condition. I try to only wear for special occasions and not everyday wear as it is too expensive to be wearing to work etc.
The face of the watch is bigger than I expected and it is really easy to see the numbers. Not all the numbers are on just 12, 2 4, 8 and 10 which is probably why the numbers are big enough to see clearly. The watch is water resistant although I haven't worn in damp places such as the bathroom!
The watch has 3 window chronograph feature - hour hand, minute hand, and seconds and also on there is the date. Its much more technical than I thought as I really only wanted one for the how it looks and not the practicality of it.
I would recommend as it is a lovely piece of jewellery and there is a Michael Kors watch to suit everyone. However I have taken a star of for the price.
*Purchase* - I received this watch as a present for Christmas in 2012, I knew exactly the watch I wanted however was torn between the silver and the rose gold. I ended up going for the rose gold and I wasn't disappointed.
He paid about £220 from our local Beaverbrook's, and I think it was just before the watches started getting really popular. The watch came in a beautiful black 'Michael Kors' box which included a small cushion for the watch to sit on and the extra links that they had taken out.
*Wearability* - The watch has no breaks in the clasp and folds over on itself to then clasp together, so very easy to put on in a rush, no fiddling around with trying to thread it through the hole. The watch is quite big aswell, my wrists are about an average size, and I still had 4 or 5 links taken out with the option to take more out, so it should fit any sized wrist. The watch wears quite well, I don't like it too tight, however because of the shape of the face it doesn't ever twist round, it tends to stay in place. I've worn the watch on multiple occasions, even whilst travelling and there are no scratches as of yet, however my cousin has the same watch, however wears it daily and after 2 years the colour has faded massively and the scratches are very evident. I think however if you take care of the watch it should last much longer.
*Features* - The watch is water resistant, which basically means that it is fine if you are caught in the rain, however the watch should be taken off for showering, swimming, washing up etc.
It has a 3 window chronograph feature which contains the second, minute and hour hand; it also has a small window to show the date.
The watch only shows the 12, 2, 4, 8 and 10 hands with the others being markers on the watch, it may sound odd, but looks good, I think with the size of the face, to add the other numbers in would decrease the size of the numbers losing out on the quality.
The width of the band is 22mm and the width of the face is 32mm which makes it the perfect size, I'm not a big fan of a tiny watch or one that is oversized.
*My opinion* - From the moment I opened the box, I absolutely loved this watch, it was one of my favourite gifts at Christmas, and definitely the one I have had the most use out of. The rose gold really makes it stand out and I think it looks much more expensive than it is. Luckily with rose gold I find that you can wear it with anything and with either casual or dressy outfits, however it definitely looks better dressed up. I've also worn a selection of different coloured jewellery with it and never felt that it looked out of place.
The watch was definitely worth the price, however it's not the kind of watch I'd wear every day, I like to save it for special occasions and I feel that way I'll have it for many years to come. I'd recommend the watch to anyone, my mum has the same watch in silver, which is just as lovely, however I feel that the rose gold just adds a little something extra to it.
I've had lots of comments on the watch and everyone seems to love it, I only hope if you buy one you love it as much as I do!
