I have my favourite watch which I have owned for around 12 years now but every now and again, someone buys me a new one, the most recent one I received was this on from my mother in law a couple of years ago and Christmas.
As this was a present, I am not sure of the exact price paid but the RRP of the watch is £29.99 but it is normally available for half this price from places such as Argos, Amazon, ASOS and Oasis.
The watch is a nice silver coloured smooth bangle, which is fastened by a clasp which is quite easy to open and close one handed which is always a bonus. The clock face is square and white in colour, the brand name is written in silver writing towards the top of the face and it has silver hands, there aren't any numbers or pointers around the clock face and normally, this doesn't cause me any problems but because the hands don't stand out very well against the face, I sometimes had to focus before I was sure exactly what the time was.
Either side of the clock face, sitting on the bangle itself are two little diamante which finish the watch off giving it a simple, yet elegant design. I haven't got the thinnest of wrists and previously I have struggled to get bangle watches to fit however this one fitted lovely (the clasp has a 2cm extension in it so if you do have smaller wrists, the diameter of the bangle can be made smaller if needed).
From reading the above, you are probably thinking that all was well with the watch, unfortunately, it wasn't, within a couple of days of wearing, one of the stones fell out of the watch. I gave it back to the mother in law and she sorted by taking it back to Argos. When it came back, it didn't wear it for a while, just really at weekends, but within a few months, I started to notice that the silver was starting to discolour, as if it was becoming rusty. As this point, we decided to send the watch back and get out money back.
Overall, I like the design of the product but I am afraid that two things going wrong within the space of a few months means that I don't think I would recommend and I would only give this 2 out of 5 stars (and that's only based on look and price!)
Thanks for reading.
I'm not one to wear a watch all day every day, but I do like to wear a watch when I go out, for a meal, or for a few drinks for example. I have a couple of fashion watches to choose from including this Oasis bangle.
I purchased this watch from Argos around a year ago now. It costs £14.99, Oasis watches are available from Oasis, Argos, Asos and the like.
The watch is very simple with a basic silver coloured bangle which continues around most part of the watch and then separating out around the watch face. There are two set stones which finish the watch off perfectly and give it that elegant look. The watch face doesn't have any numbers around the hands so after a couple of drinks it does get quite tricky trying to tell the time, but I think this adds to the simplicity of the watch. The hands that tell the time are silver in colour also, so you do have to concentrate to tell the time accurately.
The clasp securing the watch in place is strong and secure and I haven't experienced it coming undone whilst I've been wearing it, the only problem with it being so secure is that it can sometimes be tricky to undo when you want to take it off, but I'd rather it be tricky to take off than easy to fall off!
The watch is a fashion watch and I wouldn't say it would be suitable for everyday wear. The simply yet elegant design means it can compliment most outfits, but I believe it looks too good to be worn everyday.
I've had the watch for about a year now, and I would say it has stayed in an excellent condition for this past year, but I would be wrong. Around a month ago, one of the set stones fell out whilst I was wearing it. I've still got it in my jewellery drawer, but I doubt it will be worn again which is a shame as I really loved this watch.
Overall, at just £15 I think this watch is fantastic value for money, although mine lasted just under a year I think I got my moneys worth. Telling the time can be quite hard after a few drinks, and the clasp is sometimes tricky to undo but for the price who can complain?!

I owned this watch a few years ago now as my parents bought it for me for Christmas one year after I had seen it on sale in the Oasis store. I now wear a Tag watch that my husband gave me for my 30th birthday so I don't have the Oasis watch anymore but I loved it when I had it and really enjoyed wearing it.
This watch is in a bangle style so it almost looked like a bracelet when you wear it. I was looking for a watch like this as back then I liked my watches to be a bit different and not something that fastened up tight around my wrist. As it was in a bangle style this watch would wear and fall like you were wearing an actual bangle so when you put your arm down the watch would fall over your wrist and then when you held your arm up it would fall down your arm a bit. This was never annoying to me but I can see how some people would not like their watch to do this. The watch face would also spin around as it was just part of the bangle so if you did want to tell the time you would have to move the face around until it was back in place in the front of your arm.
The watch is a silver colour and quite thin as well which I liked. It's a lot thinner than a regular watch waistband and I liked that because it was a delicate piece of jewellery and not something thick and chunky. I really liked as it was quite an informal watch although you could wear it with dresses and it looked quite dressy as the silver was shiny. The watch face was a small rectangle and fit well onto the bangle.
One thing I didn't like too much about this watch though was that it didn't have any numbers on it, it didn't even have little dots on say the 12, 3, 6, and 9 so it was quite hard to tell the exact time with this watch, especially sometimes the hours too so I ended up looking at it and really having to study it hard sometimes if I wanted to know the time. This was quite embarrassing when someone would ask me the time and I had to sort of go, um, until I studied the watch and time, it made me look as if I didn't know how to tell time!!
Apart from that the style of this watch was quite nice. Oasis was written at the top of the face so you knew it was an Oasis watch. The hour, minute and second hands were all made of a nice shiny silver too so they made the watch look nice and the background of the face was a plain white colour. At the top and bottom of the face in the bangle there were two little diamond, well I say diamonds, they were cubic zirconium but they still gave the watch a bit of a flash look and a bit of bling. The watch closed with a little clasp which was quite easy to do, you just needed to hold one side with your hands and then the other side would clip into it easily. I actually remember that this broke on the first watch I had unfortunately not long after Christmas and I had to take it back to Oasis but they were really nice about it and swapped it for me no questions asked.
I can't remember the exact price but I think it was in the £25 region which was great for a nice watch like this and one I really enjoyed wearing.
A rigid silver coloured bangle with square face. It is of a minimalist design with small crystals set into the bangle, the clasp is unobtrusive and doesn't spoil the line of the bangle. The minimalist finish continues to the face and Oasis have placed just their own brand name at the top, there are no numerals and the hands are very simple.
The Oasis watch is quite heavy but feels like a slim bangle to wear. The face always drops down to face the floor because of the extra weight but I am used to this now, I've got very thin wrists so the bangle has lots of room for movement but if you have larger wrists it may not spin so much. It is comfortable to wear and feels smart and attractive.
HOW DOES IT PERFORM?
It keeps perfect time and has never let me down, I wear it very often when I go out at night or if I am dressed up to meet friends for a coffee. Without the numerals it is too vague for when I am working because I regularly have to time short intervals, the time is perfectly clear but timing is too inaccurate.
WHAT I THINK
I think this is a stylish and nice to wear bangle watch. I wear it often as part of a smart or summery outfit, I wore it with a flirty short jumpsuit today and last week wore it over the sleeve of a thin jumper. It is quite versatile but there are outfits that it won't compliment so well. I like the minimal styling and accuracy of the time, I have had many compliments when wearing this watch and appreciate the gift.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
I received this watch as a present after wanting one for quite some time. I'd not particularly specified that I wanted an Oasis watch but when I received it I was familiar with the brand.
The watch is very attractive and from what I've seen of the rest of Oasis' products they're the same. They specialise in fashion watches and this one is no exception in that it's very stylish and feminine. The watch face is white, with the OASIS brand name on it. It is set on a silver bangle which looks like any classic silver bracelet you could buy in a high street store. It might not be to everybody's specific style or taste but I personally think it's really pretty.
Obviously as I received this as a present, the price wasn't really an issue! However I have seen this watch advertised on a variety of different websites from between £15 and £20, though generally they're closer to the £15 mark. This is obviously very affordable and I'd say that you probably wouldn't be able to find a watch of this quality for less money.
I've seen this around in different shops and when I came to write this review saw it online. Various retailers like ASOS, Amazon, Debenhams and Argos all stock this watch and other Oasis watches, though some products can only be found on a particular site. I would say it's worth shopping around in order to get the best price.
I've not had any problems with this watch at all. It's not stopped yet, and it looks really pretty and feminine. I have very small wrists so it is a little big on me and because it doesn't have a conventional strap I'm not sure how easy it would be to get it adjusted. I can see that after a while the watch might become a little rusty or worn because it's not a massively high quality watch. But you definitely get what you pay for and it's definitely worth the money.
A pretty watch that goes with lots of different outfits. Stylisyh, cheap and widely available.
Everyone needs a watch and there are several brands to choose from, but one of my favourites is the Oasis brand. Oasis are perhaps best known for their clothes stores, but their watches are popular particularly among young women, and are widely available in other stores. They are reasonably priced and come in all sorts of styles. All watches come in attractive floral gift boxes.
This particular watch has a silver-coloured dial, a square silver alloy case and a silver alloy strap. It has quartz movement and is splashproof (so don't wear it in the pool!). It fastens with a clasp. My watch is slightly different to the one in the picture. Mine doesn't have the stones set into the strap, but it is otherwise identical.
***Price and Availability***
Oasis watches are available from many different stores, including Oasis itself, Argos, asos.com and Amazon, but I've noticed that particular designs are often only available in a particular place. I've only ever seen this one, and its stone-less predecessor, in Argos. The price of the watch is £14.99. The RRP is supposedly £29.99, but I've never seen it for more than fifteen quid. This is what originally prompted me to buy this watch - I'd wanted an Oasis watch for ages and most of them are £25 at least, so this was a bargain!
I saw this watch in Argos in early 2007 (the version minus the stones) and bought it immediately as I thought it was a lovely watch and bargainous to boot. I purchased it with no problems, took it home and got it out of the box to put on. I have very thin wrists and was worried at first that the watch would be too big, then I saw that a 2cm piece of the clasp was completely removable, making the watch smaller - a clever idea that made the watch into the perfect size for me.
I used this watch as my 'everyday' watch, wearing it pretty much every day for around three years. Apart from a couple of scratches, the watch stayed looking practically as good as new. The simple colour and design meant that it went well with most of my outfits. I had some compliments on my watch and the attractive, simple design. The watch never came undone by itself, it always remained attached to my wrist. However it was easy to undo when I needed to.
This watch is a fashion watch, and someone with poor eyesight might find it difficult to tell the time using it. The off-white background has the Oasis name but no hour markers, and the silver-coloured hands are very small. You can still tell the time, of course, but it's slightly tricky even for me sometimes - certainly not as easily as a digital watch or even an analogue watch with larger numbers and other markers. This doesn't bother me as the watch is very attractive but it might bother some people.
I eventually stopped wearing the watch because the metal was starting to rust slightly. The watch itself was still working accurately (I think I might have had to replace the battery once during three years) but it didn't look so good. I've kept the watch in case I ever want a watch for use if I'm decorating or doing something messy when I don't want to wear a 'good' watch.
Fifteen pounds for over three years' continuous wear still seems pretty good to me, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this watch to anyone who likes the look of it. To be honest I don't like the new design quite as much as the old one, as I find the stones slightly unnecessary and prefer the older, simpler design, but it's still an attractive and simple watch and I would consider purchasing the new version.
