Advantages: Cheap, pretty and well made
Disadvantages: No hour/minute/second indicators on watch face
I have a really nice Armani watch which I wear for weekend use and for going out but as I work in a factory office, I didn't want to wear my nice, expensive watch for work use as I feared it would get damaged or scratched easily so I decided to get a cheaper watch for work purposes.
For my last Birthday, my parents brought me the Oasis Ladies Bangle Watch. When I first saw the watch my initial impression was that the watch was a little too posh and expensive for work so I was really surprised to find that this was available from Argos for the bargain price of £14.99.
The watch has a thin, silver bangle like metal strap with clasp. The face of the watch is a square shape with silver border and a very simple finish on the face itself. The face bears nothing more than the Oasis brand name in small lettering at the top of the face and the small, delicate looking hands. The watch clearly promotes a minimalist look which I really like as it looks classy and simple on the wrist and you genuinely would think this cost more than its mere £14.99 price tag.
The face doesn't show any numbers indicating hours and minutes at all, nor does it indicate seconds which isn't something that bothers me in the slightest as I am perfectly capable of telling the time without the need for the number indicators but I know the lack of numbers etc on the face may be a problem for some.
To finish the watch off and add that little bit of blind, there are two square cut diamond like stones at the top and bottom of the face which to me is a nice little touch as it compliments the minimalist look of the watch well, but gives the watch that little bit of an edge and just adds a nice little touch to the watch so it doesn't look so plain.
The watch sits nicely on the wrist and it feels far more substantial than it looks. I choose to wear a cheap watch for work as it has a tendency to get knocked etc but so far this watch has stood up to the test of time well and it has shown very little sign of wear and tear so far.
Overall, I really like this watch as it is really pretty and feminine and looks quite classy on the wrist but it is relatively cheap and cheerful too so it doesn't matter if it gets knocked about. For quite a delicate looking watch it is rather sturdy. The only negative point for some may be the lack of time indication on the watch face itself but this genuinely hasn't caused an issue for me and therefore the watch comes with a recommendation from me.
Summary: A nice watch from the Oasis range
