Product description: Quartz movement system, with whole watch weighing 4.5g.
Having broken my old watch I was desperate to get a new one, feeling lost without being able to know the time whilst I was out and about. Being relatively clumsy I was looking for a watch which was robust but not too expensive, to stop disappointment if it was broken or damaged. The thing that attracted me to this particular watch was the price and the fact that it came with a warranty.
Having used this watch for a significant period of time now I have found it incredibly reliable. I love the simplicity of its design, as I hate watches which are too fussy. The oval shape is really attractive and the link pattern creates a great look. Personally I prefer gold watches and found that the tone of this one was a pretty light, yellowly colour. I was expecting a fading or discolouration over time but this does not appear to have happened yet, which is good considering the price.
I did not find this watch uncomfortable or experience the problem of pincing from the clasp or links. The simple design means it can definitely be worn on a day to day basis with anything. I have had no problems with it stopping or becoming damaged in any way, even though I have a tendency to drop it quite a lot. If glancing quickly, it can be difficult to tell the time in certain lights due to the similar colouring of the entire watch. Occasionally this can be slightly annoying but as it is quite a common occurrence with many of the other watches on sale (due to the style of having jewels instead of a complete set of numbers).
Overall, it has been a great purchase with a pretty design.
Everyone needs a watch and there are several brands to choose from, but one of my favourites is the Oasis brand. Oasis are perhaps best known for their clothes stores, but their watches are popular particularly among young women, and are widely available in other stores. They are reasonably priced and come in all sorts of styles. All watches come in attractive floral gift boxes.
If you've read my review of other Oasis watches, you'll know that I am a big fan. My current and previous 'everyday' watches both belonged to this brand. I first saw this particular watch on the ASOS website priced at £30. What attracted me at first was the colour. I didn't have a gold-coloured watch and thought it would be a good idea to get one to wear with my gold jewellery. Just before Christmas, ASOS had a special offer on a number of watches, and I decided to buy two, including this watch which cost me only £24.
***Price and Availability***
Oasis watches are available from many different stores, including Oasis itself, Argos, ASOS.com and Amazon, but I've noticed that particular designs are often only available in a particular place. I've searched around, but have only ever seen this particular watch online at ASOS where I bought it. The watch only cost me £24 in the limited-time deal which I thought was an excellent price.
The watch is gold-coloured metal with a stainless steel back and a base metal bezel. It is not waterproof and care should be taken to avoid getting it wet - this watch is definitely designed for dress wear not everyday wear. It is an analogue quartz watch and is guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase.
I received my watch in the post in the usual green-coloured attractive floral gift box. On opening the box I found the watch wrapped around a black velvet cushion. This watch is gold-coloured with a strap of links as the picture shows, and it has a gold coloured face with the Oasis logo. There are only four marks on the face to indicate times, and the hands are gold too, so it can be difficult to see the time in bad light - this is a problem with most fashion watches, I find, but I'm not too bothered as I have pretty good eyesight (so long as I'm wearing my contacts anyway!). It might concern someone with bad eyesight though. One of the links can be cleverly removed to resize the watch strap, which I was pleased about as I have quite thin wrists.
I find the watch very comfortable to wear and it doesn't irritate my skin as I have heard some metal watches can. The watch is attractive and stylish, yet simple, and goes with everything I choose to wear it with. I normally wear it with gold jewellery as that's the reason I got it in the first place. I've been complimented on the watch and I really like it. Personally I think it looks more expensive than it actually is, and looks just as good as my friend's gold coloured DKNY watch!
I don't wear this watch everyday, but I've worn it several times and it hasn't discoloured or stopped working or anything like that. I'm really pleased with the watch and I'm glad I chose it. I can't think of anything bad to say about it - I definitely recommend it even at it's full price of £30!
