Smart, Sleek and worn by James Bond - what an endorsement.
Yes I do have the James Bond Omega, although I did not set out specifically to get this one. Having inspected several different models I found that this one was the one for me.
It is an Omega Seamaster and is a professional divers watch but is equally at home on dry land. The watch is water proof to a depth of 300m and features a helium escape value. Apparently this is necessary when diving to these depths to prevent a helium build up within the watch causing the glass to break. i cannot say that I have used the watch to its depth limits seeing as I am not a diver by trade.
The model I have is a chronometer, which means that it requires no batteries and powers itself by the movent of your wrist. Chronometers are certified for their accuracy and mine is over 99.99% accurate. Not bad for no quartz and batteries.
Omega watches are not for everyone. If all you care about is telling the time then you can get a perfectly adequate watch for £10 that will do the job just as well. And whilst it may sound cliched I suppose that it is a l=kind of a status symbol. But in a more descreet way than a Rolex.
I was given my Omega as a gift as I was not in a position then to spend over £1,000.00 on a watch but I already have my next three Omeage watches earmarked for when the funds permit.
