“ Brand: Paris Hilton / Watches For: Women „
- - - - - - Who? - - - - - - Yep - In addition to film, music, books, fragrances, handbags, shoes and clothes Paris Hilton has her own line of watches. Even if you don't like her you have to admire the mini empire she's creating. I wanted to treat myself to one of her watches as I own her fragrances and a few of her bags, so I know she hires the best designers to work on her collections, using top quality materials. The company that produces the line of watches with her is her fragrance manufactures of all people: Parlux. - - - - - - - - - - The Design - - - - - - - - - - The FLOATING NUMBERS design is a classic analogue watch face [1.5 inches] on a buckle clasp strap. The strap is made from leather and topped with nylon, which is corduroy patterned. It is 19 inches in length. The face has a 3 by 3 grid [like a nought and crosses grid] across the face. The centre square is where the minute and hour hands originate, so is blank, apart from small black lettering announcing that this product is designed 'by Paris Hilton'. This range gets it's name for having little diamante studded, metallic plates shaped into a 3, 6, 9 and 12, each in their own square at the correct clockwise angles. The plates aren't pinned down in their squares - they are free to move around in the small amount of space they have. This leaves us with 4 extra squares; 2 in the upper corners and 2 in the lower corners. Not one for the minimalist approach, Paris' team have placed little heart shaped plates in them - 1 heart per square [see below for colour combinations], the hearts are also free to move. You can only hear the plates make a mild rattle if you vigorously move your hands i.e. waving :p ** If you see a design with only 3, 6 and 9 shaped plates [see above picture] and loose diamante instead of hearts the product being sold is the original design, which is 2 years old and had a RRP of £69 ** This product is described by the manufacturer as being water resistant to 30m. - - - - - - - - - - - The packaging - - - - - - - - - - - The box is secure and expensive-looking; The box has a wrap around lid and a card slip cover [My watch is part of the original line. I think the boxes are now flap topped]. The watch is buckled around a cushion to prevent it rattling around loosely. The box my watch came in was black with bright pink lettering, but I believe they now come in white boxes with baby pink lettering. Paris Hilton watches come with a 2 Year manufacturer's guarantee, which is cute in itself; Mine was the size and shape of a black credit card. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Colour combinations - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - White strap and silver hearts Champagne gold strap and dark brown hearts Chocolate strap and chocolate hearts Dark brown strap and dark brown hearts Pink strap and pink hearts - - - - - - - - - My opinion - - - - - - - - - If I lost my watch today I would pay the RRP for another one as it is great quality and I've never seen anything with a similar design, so it's unique. Mine is 18 months old and is still keeping perfect time on it's original battery and I've dropped it and banged it a few times, which has had no ill effect on it. The watch face is scratch free and the strap is unstained [usually they attract grime]. It is expensive looking - but in a pretty way, not a "Look at me, big spender" way. - - - - - RRP - - - - - £100 [They used to sell Paris Hilton watches in H Samuels, but the newer versions are more expensive, so are limited to various online sites, including Amazon UK] Yes, not cheap I know. I got mine on Ebay through watchwarehouse_shop; Not only was it a lot cheaper (I paid £10, plus £5 p+p), but the customer service was very good. The first watch I received [It arrived in 2 days] had been damaged in the post so I emailed them. They immediately sent me a replacement based on my email, trusting me to post the original back to them at my earliest convenience.
