“ Brand: Playboy „
A few years back I used to be a fan of all things Playboy and although I have gone off it a lot now as I feel it has become a bit tacky, I do still find a few of their items quite nice so admiteddly I do own one or two Playboy products. I received this Playboy watch as a gift at Christmas and it arrived in a black box with a Silver playboy bunny head on the outside and inside the box the watch was set upon a nice pink velvety cushion.
The watch looked really pretty and certainly very girly and feminine so I did love it. It actually looks more like a bracelet than a watch which I really liked as I often find watches are sometimes a hinderence to wear and can spoil an outfit if they aren't pretty or don't match what you are wearing, so it was great that this one looked more like a girly accessory. The wrist part of the watch is silver and features Playboy bunny heads and then the face of the watch is a lovely light pink again featuring the classic Playboy bunny logo in the middle with 2 little hands to tell the time. Then there's the little twisty knob on the side to adjust the time as with most standard watches.
The problem is that the face of the watch doesn't actually display any numbers which I always find annoying in a watch as you can look and see the aproximate time, but you sometimes cannot tell the actual time which doesn't really fulfill the purpose of being a watch! The second problem I had with this watch is that the battery in it stopped within a couple of weeks and I had to go out and buy another watch battery which was annoying since I had literally only just received the watch brand new.
Since I received this as a gift I'm not sure how much it cost but from browsing through the Argos catalogue I can see that Playboy watches aren't usually cheap and tend to cost at least £30+ so I would have expected the watches original battery to have lasted longer than it did.
This is my review for the very pretty Playboy PB0112PK watch.
I like most things Playboy and have already reviewed the Playboy Full On Body Shimmer, so now for a review on this.
The watch has a rectangular pink dial with a silver playboy bunny in the centre and is of a bracelet design with cut outs of the playboy bunny logo, it's not a fragile watch by any means so could probably be worn frequently if not every day with no problems. The glass on the dial is scratch resistant and apparently this watch is also water resistant of up to 30 metres, though I haven't tested that as swimming and diving isn't really my thing! Though I've worn it whilst doing the washing up and it seems fine.
The fastening is a fold over clasp and one of the features of this watch is a three year battery life, I've not had mine for that long (got it for Christmas a couple of years ago I think it was) so I can't say whether that is true or not, though I expect the battery will last a fair old amount of time.
This watch has a quartz movement and doesn't have any numbers or dots on the dial to indicate the numbers but I find it simple enough to tell the time with, though I do prefer digital watches if I'm honest.
Since I've had this watch it has had quite a bit of wear, there's a few scratches here and there but that's what I'd come to expect after wearing it often. If you're a Playboy fan or just a girly girl then I'd say you'd probably like it as it is simple, pretty and stylish. Perhaps not a watch for the older generation though. :)
