My friend bought me a watch from River Island last Christmas and I loved it. It was sparkly and looked great on my wrist. Sadly it broke after just five months and I had to send it back to River Island-months later they still hadn't sorted a refund out for me but that is a whole other review on River Island's customer services! I was getting sick of needing to check my phone to see what the time was and so I decided to purchase a different watch.

My first point of call when I was looking for another watch was actually River Island again as I do love the style of their watches however all the watches had link type straps and as I have pretty tiny wrists I always need links taken out. For this reason I decided to look elsewhere and noticed that in Debenhams they had a range of watches.

The watch I chose is by the red herring brand which I think is most popularly found in Debenhams. I had heard of the brand but wasn't overly familiar with it and if I am honest I didn't care what the brand was, I just wanted a nice looking watch to wear.

The watch I chose was the women's grey graduated dial watch. It came in a black and white presentation box which was nice enough, but not something I chose to keep. It would look nice as a gift though if this was the purpose you bought the watch for.

The watch face is relatively large and circular. There is a shiny silver trim going all the way around the watch face. The numbers are large and of a silvery colour. They look quite clumped together actually, but it also looks very modern too in my opinion. The background of the watch is actually a silver colour with all little holes punched into it but this actually sparkles and looks like diamante which I quite like. You have the hours, minutes and seconds hand on this watch too. There is the red herring branding logo written across the watch face but I don't think is too prominent to be intrusive.

The strap is a metallic colour and I am not really sure what the actual colour is! To me it seems a bit like a grey colour but with lots of metallic type colour thrown in there too. The strap is made from 100% polyurethane and has nine holes in it so it is very adjustable and suits me well.

The watch is selling for just £20.00 at the moment in Debenhams which I feel is really good value for a nice looking day to day watch.

In summary I really like this watch. I think it looks modern and a little bit trendy and it is a decent price. The watch face is possibly a bit too large to wear when I have the occasional night out but for day to day wear this watch is great. I would certainly recommend this watch and also feel it would make a nice gift.
