A reliable watch that keeps good time

My Seiko Ladies Coutura Watch is the Coutura SXDA 78P1 version, which I was given as a gift. Having had a number of Seiko watches over the years, I have to say that for an easy on the eye, but also well made and durable every day watch, you cannot go wrong with one of these.

My particular model being the Seiko Coutura SXDA 78P1 is similar to the watch shown here with an almost identical strap except for the fact that mine has a kind of indented line scored along both sides of the centre links of the bracelet strap. It is also rather sadly minus the crystal blingy bits on the watch case. Even so, its a very attractive and wearable watch for every day use and as with the other Seiko watches I have had, it has been a good time keeper whilst also being very attractive to look at.

Things I like about my Seiko Coutura watch are the lovely brushed gold finish to the whole watch which is very elegant and stylish without being too in your face. The classic white toned light shimmer effect mother of pearl watch face is very nicely done and allows me to see the gold toned roman numerals on it clearly.

The brushed gold effect bracelet and case have a stainless steel base for added strength and durability when in use. I have found the clasp to be simple but effective, with an easy to get the hang of fold over action and the addition of a push button release, for ease of use when putting the watch on or taking it off. The design of the strap makes it feel both comfortable and stylish and its just the right size to look smart when in wear.

      **********************************************************
Other points of note about my Seiko Coutura SXDA 78P1 model watch are that its meant to be water resistant to 100 meters and says so on the watch face. I have to say as I never get this anywhere near water, I have not tested this and so cannot substantiate that in any way. Still it may be true, I just don't want to risk testing it out.

To the right hand side of my watch as you look at it there is a small date window showing, this means you can always be sure of what time and day it is without having to enquire, which is helpful to have. My watch came with a 2 years guarantee when I first got it, but so far its been fine so I haven't had any issues with that at all.

      **********************************************************
The Coutura range of watches by Seiko are part of the mid priced range of watches that Seiko produce and can be found for sale from as little as £132 to £185 online. I am unsure as to how much my watch was when it was purchased as it was given to me as a gift, but I do feel it exudes quality and would have been happy to pay the lower end price at the very minimum.

One thing to mention for anyone thinking of buying one of these online is to make sure you get the correct paperwork for the guarantee, manual and a serial number, as there are a lot of fakes about and getting an authentic watch will ensure you get a quality product that will last well. As I really like my Seiko Coutura watch I cannot rate it with anything less than 5 stars. Its not the first Seiko watch I have had and it probably won't be the last either.
