      A nice mid range watch

Having had a number of Seiko watches over the years, I have found them to be of a good quality and build. The range of watches that Seiko produce caters for the mid range watch buyer, going up to some rather more pricey gents and ladies watches too. I have found that prices can range from £80 to £90 upwards and so Seiko do have something for almost any buyer, budget and situation.

My Seiko SXGF 20 Ladies Watch is part of Seikos general range of watches and as such I would consider it to be a good budget buy within the range. Whilst this little watch is in no way as gorgeous or as easy on the eye as my Seiko Coutura SXDA 78P1, its a nice little watch that I have had for some time and its certainly faired well since I have owned it.

I have found that the Seiko SXGF20 is a durable every day watch, I can wear without worry about it being too pricey to replace if it goes wrong of gets a scratch or two (not that is has so far). I actually picked this watch up for just under £100, which is not bad for a quality time piece like this. As I like to ring the changes with accessories, which I consider watches, sunglasses, bags, jewellery to be, this little watch has served me well for daytime wear.

Things I like about my Seiko SXGF20 are the simple style of the watch case itself, which when combined with the linked pieces of the gold toned strap works well to provide me with a modern but minimal watch for easy daily wear. The simplicity of the dial, separated into 12 easy to read sections with simple lined divisions as markers is easy to read and looks very modern to the eye.

The gold toned watch case set around the classic white dial looks very smart and as with all the other Seiko watches I have owned except just one, the gold toned effect has not faded in any way at all. I haven't experienced that awful green toned effect some gold toned watches with stainless steel bases can leave on your skin after wear at all.

This may be due to the fact that I never wear my watches in or near water though. This watch is actually classed as being splash resistant but seeing as I have not tested that out, I cannot really vouch for that. However I do have to trust that should the watch ever be in a situation with me near water and become splashed, it would hold up well. If it didn't I would certainly be emailing Seiko to find out why, because it should work as advertised to my mind.

My Seiko SXGF20 watch has been a good time keeper since I have had it and thats something that makes me return to Seiko as a brand, as I have found that all the watches I have had, have been equally good at keeping time. My watch came with a 2 years manufacturers guarantee which was something that gave me piece of mind, however I have not had any cause to invoke that.

Other things I like about this watch is the nicely sized hour, minute and second hands which make it simple and easy to tell the time. The sapphire crystal glass display cover is something that I have found to be good, as it has certainly protected my watch from scratches and so far the glass remains scratch free. That may be as much due to my careful wearing of the watch as much as its due to the quality for the product itself.

Over all my watch has been something that I have enjoyed owning and wearing. Its a simple and classic design and its quartz analogue movement has so far kept great time. The clasp on my watch is easy to fasten and the watch sits on my wrist well.

Overall look and feel of the watch is something I like. As I have had no problems with my watch what so ever I feel it has to be rated highly. The gold toned effect has not faded or tarnished even after repeated wear. With everything in mind my Seiko SXG20 watch gets a 5 star rating and is something I would recommend.

Not part of the review but may come in handy: If buying one of these online, do make sure you get the correct paperwork for the guarantee, along with the manual and a serial number. There are fakes about and this may help ensure you get an authentic Seiko watch product that will last well.
