I own a variety of different watches that I use for different occasions as I love to have a choice of watches to wear with different styles of clothes and for casual or more formal work purposes. I have owned this Skagen analogue ladies white leather watch for a few years now and I love wearing it for casual or evening use during the summer, as it looks great with a natural tan.
Skagen is a Danish brand that is known for its simple and clean styles that are typically Scandinavian. The brand was founded in 1989 by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst who, inspired by the small, seaside village of Skagen, Denmark, set out to create a design- driven company centered around the welcoming spirit of the city. Their website states that the inspiring natural landscape and modern design sensibilities, coupled with an unmatched attention to detail, have made the brand one-of-a-kind.
The watch comes in a natural white cardboard presentation box with a unique design and a pale image of a distant landscape on it and the Skagen logo, which fits the brands simple and eco friendly approach. On opening the box the watch is placed inside around a white protective pouch and a further compartment includes the instructions and guarantee.
The first impression of the watch is that it is slim and stylish. It has a round white face measuring just 24mm with tiny Swarovski crystals to mark the minutes/hours and silver hands. The branding Skagen Denmark is written in tiny letters on the watch face. The watch then has a white leather strap with a silver buckle that can be adjusted to fit your wrist size and silver inserts where the strap meets the watch face which give it a lovely shiny gleam while wearing.
The watch is water resistance to 30m and has a lifetime manufacturer warranty certificate. It has a pull out knob on the side which easily adjusts the time. It is battery powered so does not need to be wound and I have never had to replace the battery during the few years I have owned the watch.
I really like this watch and it looks great when I wear it. It is a very small and slim and looks good on me as I have very small wrists. However it might be a bit lost on someone with larger wrists as it is so delicate and quite pale. It also might be less effective if you have very pale skin so I tend not to wear it in winter when i am nearly as white as it is!
The watch has always been reliable and kept time well. The only issue I have had with it is that after a few years wear the white leather strap has become a bit dirty and is not that easy to clean. I think this is inevitable with a white strap so is not a design fault, but it does mean that I do not wear it every day. You can purchase a replacement strap from the Skagen customer service centre if required.
The watch retails at abut £95 and can be bought from a variety of retailers including Amazon and Watches2U and the Skagen website.
Overall this is a great watch if you are looking for something pretty and stylish but not too large. I would definitely recommend it.
