“ Brand: Spirit / Type: Pendant Watch on Chain „
I am always browsing Amazon window shopping and adding items to my wishlist, i often get bargains by doing this so when this get dropped in price i manage to purchase them at a low price. The spirit ladies heart dial pendant watch was in my wish list for a while last year although it wasn't that expensive around £12.99 full price and last november the pendant watch dropped to £5.00 and free super saver delivery bargain.
Spirit ladies heart dial pendant watch comes with a long chain, i personally love longer necklaces and being a watch pendant it makes it easy to pick up the watch and read the time, i think it looks cool dangling down. The chain is silver plated and measures roughly 22 inches long, it has a clap on the chain that it strong and not too fiddly to do although the chain is big so slips over my head with opening the clasp. The chain style is like a belcher styled chain made up of small loops.
Spirit ladies heart dial watch is a heart shaped pendant that hangs on the chain. This is so pretty, its silver plated also and has small clear stones around the face, not over done just enough to make it look fancy and sparkle in the sunlight. The face of the watch pendant is silver with no numbers apart from the number twelve at the top then small lines around the rest of the face marking out where the numbers would be, its easy to tell the time with and has small hands also.
Heart pendant is a good size measuring roughly 1 inch tall.
When i received the spirit ladies heart dial pendant watch i twisted the little pull out know at the bottom of the watch to set the time only to wear it all day and realised the time had stayed the same to find out it needed a battery and did not come with one. Luckily there is a cheap watch shop in our town that charge only £2 to have a battery fitted, this looked fairly easy to do as i watched the man flip the back of and put the batteir in.
I love the spirit ladies heart dial pendant watch, its a nice change from wearing a wrist watch and i think it looks stylish. A bit of a bummer the watch did not come with a battery but easily solved. This would make a lovely gift also.
I recommend the spirit ladies heart dial pendant watch.
Once upon a time everybody wore a watch but then with the advent of the mobile phone we all carried timepieces in our bags instead. I have recently largely ditched my mobile so needed something to help me to tell the time when out and about. Traditional watches annoy me so I decided to look for a pendant watch and found the Spirit Heart Dial Pendant Watch for £4.99 on Amazon.
I love the simply design of the pendant. It measures around three centimetres up and down and has a pretty row of clear stones around the edge which gives it a nice sparkle. The dial is stainless stell and each number is replaced by a simple silver line. The hands are also silver and are a nice funky shape and it is easy to tell at a glance which hand is for hours, minutes or seconds. A simple silver semi circle allows the chain to be attached, overall the look is clasy and suitable for either casual or smart daytime wear and the watch looks far more expensive than the £5 I paid for it.
Setting the time is really easy, simply pull out the small dial on the bottom of the heart and turn the hands until the correct time is shown. I have found that the watch keeps perfect time and when I want to read the watch I simply need to turn it around and have a quick glance at it. The watch is battery powered so you don't have to remember to wind it and I have yet to replace the battery but I am sure it is a simple matter of flipping open the stainless steel casing and adding a new button cell battery.
The one thing which I don't like about the watch is the silver coloured chain it came on. It looks really tacky and was not nearly long enough for my liking. I am tall so when I wore the watch on this chain it fell between my bosoms and generally annoyed me. I have since replaced the chain with a new silver chain which looks far better and is longer so it doesn't keep disappearing into my cleavage.
The Spirit Heart Pendant Watch is a good buy, it looks nice and will go with almost any outfit and it saves me having to carry my mobile around to tell the time. Just be aware that the chain is not as good quality as the watch and you might need to replace it.
Among my collection of watches is this one the "Spirit Ladies Heart Dial Pendant Watch" after reviewing my other Spirit watch I decided I would review this one also.
*Why I got it and what it looks like*
I got this watch for the simple fact it wouldn't have to sit on my skinny wrist. I like it because it's different, it's pretty and it's two pieces of jewelry in one. I bought it just after Christmas from Amazon for £5.00 a real bargain, as although it's only a white metal chain and a silver colored metal pendant watch, it's still a very pretty piece of fashion Jewelry. The watch itself is about 9 to 10 mm thick, silver in color in the shape of a heart with pretty little white stones situated all around the outside of the watch face. The hands and hour markers on the face of the watch are metallic silver strokes apart from the 12 which is in actual fact a number 12. On the bottom of the watch as it hangs around the neck, is the winder to adjust the time. The watch is quartz controlled and keeps very good time.
The chain is not really anything special, it's quite long and fastens with a normal jewelry clasp, although you don't need to undo the clasp as the chain is more than long enough to fit over your head. The watch does look pretty hanging from it once placed around the neck. When I wear the watch people usually comment on it, always asking me if it is a working watch. It looks just like an average pendant till you get up close and realize, it is in actual fact a very pretty little watch in full working order. As the light catches the little white stones in the watch, the watch twinkles and glistens, it really is a very pretty little piece of jewelry.
*A bit disappointed*
What I will mention is the fact that there was no battery inside the watch, this was quite annoying as I had to go hunt for one and couldn't use the watch straight away. There was no mention when I purchased it that there would be no battery included. However the watch was very cheap so in the long run I shouldn't really grumble. Incidentally, I got a pack of 2 watch batteries from Wilkinson's for £3.99 so in all my watch cost me about £9.00 which still isn't bad, it doesn't look cheap at all. When I first received it and opened it up it was presented in a lovely little silver box and looked far from cheap.
I am more than happy with this pendant watch and would recommend it to those of you who don't like wearing a watch on your wrist, or if your like me where a lot of watches look ridiculous on your wrist because it's so skinny. So if your after something a little bit different or are looking for a little gift for someone then you won't go far wrong with one of these Spirit Ladies Pendant Watches.
I'm giving this watch 4 stars and that's only because there was no battery in it when I got it. Thank you for reading my review which may also appear on Ciao.
For my exams in my first year of uni, i always ended up at the back, or one of the far sides since my last name begins with T, and thus im pretty far back in the alphabet. Because of this i always had difficulty seeing the clock. Normally the lack of clocks in the world that are close enough for me to see is very acceptable since i always have my phone on me for the time anyway, however, in exams you arnt allowed a phone and time keeping is essential, so i decided to go in search of a watch.
For me, ive never really had a watch because i dont tend to like the look of them, i always find a big chunky piece of metal strapped round your wrist is pretty unfeminine, and not that fashionable unless your willing to pay a lot. They also always seem to catch on clothing when getting dressed, or trying things on in changing rooms while shopping, so i was on the search for a watch more feminine and less irritating, and i found it. At the amazing price of just £7.95 (plus post and packaging) this is one of the rare occasions where a watch is fashionable and functional at the same time, without being stupidly expensive. I have loved many pocket watches, and vintage looking watches, and designer pretty watches in the past, but all the watches i seemed to like seemed to be around the £80 mark.......not the kind of money a student has to spend, and also i didnt want the constant worry of losing or breaking it.
This watch is lovely, it's a reasonably long chain, that i tend to dangle under my clothes and just pull the chain up to glance at the time, under purely so it isnt swinging everywhere, this is when im having my function over fashion days. However i also wear it over sometimes and have it sitting there for all to see, a multifunctional watch which doubles as a fashionable item of jewellery. Just 24mm in diameter and 6mm thick, a nice light weight, and feminine watch, just what i was looking for! Sparkling stones around the heart shaped face, this watch is just lovely, and it works brilliantly! ive had it for 3 years now and the chain is still perfectly linked and its still ticking away nicely. It comes in a lovely little box as well, somewhere nice to keep it when you arnt wearing it so you dont lose it. I have also had none of the irritation of this watch catching on things, its a smooth and sleek metal design, the perfect low cost watch.
As part of Amazon's Black Friday sale, I bought this Spirit Pendant watch as a bit of an impulse buy as I'd been thinking about getting a necklace watch for quite a while. Its usual Amazon price is £7.95 (currently with £2.95 postage), but mine was £5 with free postage.
I initially wasn't too sure about it as I've been looking at pendant watches for ages and none have really fit the bill. Most of the high street ones (found in shops such as Accessorize) tend to be gold and a bit too fussy for my liking. I'm not a massive fan of fake-looking gems either, so I was worried that the edging of stones on this one would be too much.
However, when I received the pendant I was pleasantly surprised as it does look nice. I wouldn't be embarrassed to give it as a gift, and it would make a good present for teenagers as it's not too expensive. It's a lovely heart shape with a pull-out knob on the bottom to adjust the time, and the gems are so tiny that they don't look tacky.
The only number on the watch face is a 12; the others are marked out with lines. The hands are small but do the job and look elegant. The pendant itself is around 9mm thick and is a silver colour, and the crystals are simply described 'mineral', although I suspect they may well be cubic zirconia.
The pendant is secure on its chain, and the chain is a good thickness as opposed to those really tiny thin ones which are easy to snap. However, the chain is the biggest flaw in my opinion as it's just too long. At full length it goes past my chest (I'm 5'2"), and at full length it would look trashy although it does mean you can read the time more easily. I do like shorter necklaces though, and it wouldn't be so bad if I could adjust the size properly, but the links in the chain get a bit smaller making it more difficult if not impossible to adjust - plus then you have a lot of chain hanging down your back. I've noticed in Amazon reviews that a lot of people have complimented the length - as you can get it over your head without even undoing the clasp - but for me it's a definite disadvantage and I wish they'd given the length of the chain in the product listing. I'm considering either buying a new chain or taking it off altogether and adding it to a chunky charm bracelet I have; as it was so cheap I don't have a problem with that.
It has a standard clasp which opens and closes easily enough, and it comes with a two year manufacturer warranty. My necklace was presented in a small black velvet bag, although I have heard some people received theirs in a box. Giving it as a gift it's adequate but nothing spectacular so you may want to transfer it into something else or buy a gift bag as well.
The other disadvantage of this watch was that it didn't work out of the bag as I expected - it needed a watch battery from the word go. I don't know if this is true of all these pendants, but I would expect a battery to be included; the back isn't the easiest to remove and as a gift the recipient would probably be disappointed.
For the price I paid I don't think it was a waste of money, however I haven't had much use out of it to date and I'm currently looking into the best way to add it as a bracelet charm.
