“ Brand: Swatch / Watch for: Women „
I have two watches, the first of which is my day to day wear one, a Breo Sports Watch. For moments when I want to wear a watch that has a bit more class, style and elegance though, I put on my nice one, a Swatch First Romance LK280G watch.
After receiving some birthday money, I decided to treat myself to one of these online (I used eBay and bought a brand new one from there, but I'm sure there are other retailers online who sell these and highstreet jewellers may also). I paid £28 for mine online, inlcuding shipping which I thought was a bargain for something that looks to elegant and pretty.
I have very tiny wrists so tend to favour elasticated watches as they can shrink down more and don't fall off my hand from being overly big, or cost me the expense of resizing them at a jewellers or watch shop. One of the best aspects of this watch is that it too is elasticated - to wear you just slip it over your wrist, so there's no fiddling with a clasp or anything.
In terms of looks, I really think this watch is very attractive. It's made of shiny silver metal, and the bracelet 'strap' itself is made up of an intricate flower, bead and crystal design as seen in the picture, which looks very pretty and feminine I think.
The actual face of the watch is simple and understated, being silver in colour which keeps inline with the rest of the watch's style. On the face of the watch, there are crystals forming the place where most of the numbers should be, apart from the 12, 3, 6 and 9 numbers which are small and red in colour. I suppose this does make telling the time easier than having crystals take the place of all the numbers. There is a minute hand and an hour hand, as with all standard clocks and watches.
I'm not sure what battery it takes to be honest, as I've had this for well over a year and have not needed to change it, but it's clear that as with most watches the battery is changed by taking the back of the watch off (very carefully, I recommend getting a proper watchsmith or jeweller to do it so you don't damage it!)
This watch has performed very well for me, and keeps accurate time. Although I only really wear it for special occasions and going out, because it's too nice for everyday wear, I can still really recommend it.
Needless to say this Swatch Forst Romance was bought for me by the man in my life, I guess it would have been a bit weird for someone else to buy it other than a former boyfriend I guess, anyway it was a nice surprise present after he got back from a tour of duty and he paid about £30 for it in duty free.
One of the unique features about this watch is that it has an elasticated bracelet so there are no clasps or buckles to deal with, you just stretch it over your hand to fit, I have quite slender wrists but that has never been a problem with this watch as we were able to get a free sizing from a Swatch dealer and now it fits snugly without feeling too tight and leaving any marks.
The bracelet is metal with beads and metal flowers forming an intricate and attractive strap, the watch casing is plastic and you can see the inner workings of the watch through the clear back plate. The watch face is silver and the four main numbers are red with the place of the other numbers taken up by crystals, the hour and minute hands are a darker metallic effect and the second hand is red.
This is a very attractive watch and one that I wear to go out in rather than for everyday use as there are lots of small parts and thus as it has sentimental value I'm always worried about damaging it.
A nice stylish watch that makes a nice surprise present for your loved one gents.
