Over the years i have owned a few swatch watches as I like to have a few different watches to wear depending on my mood and I have to admit I am a sucker for brightly coloured ones. I do own a couple of more expensive watches but for everyday wear I like to wear a cheaper brand that looks good and works well and I find Swatch manages to do that and do it well.
My favourite watch of theirs that I own is the Full Blooded men's chronograph watch in colour sunset. Forget the picture on dooyoo that they have for this watch as mine one is a really vivid red colour and really looks gorgeous. I bought it in Barcelona and it cost me the bargain price of 100 Euros so I'm not really sure what that is in sterling but a quick look on good old trusty amazon shows me that they are selling it for £72.99 which seems a really good price for this watch.
The watch Is made of steel and is a bright red colour and extremely shiny and anyone wearing this watch is bound to be noticed which is exactly why I bought it. The face of the watch has tiny little crystals in it to represent the numbers and this gives it another element of bling which of course I love but might not be to everyone's taste. It feels nice and solid when worn and it was easy to get adjusted to it my wrist, the girl in the shop just took out a link and it only took her a minute or so.
As I said the watch is a chronograph so you can use it as a stop watch etc. I never really use this feature but I like the look of the 3 different circles on the watch. Apparently the watch is also waterproof to depths of 30 feet but again I can't vouch for this as other than a bit of rain I haven't got it wet. To be honest no one is buying this watch for any features it has they are buying it as a fashion watch because it looks so good and here is where it excels. I always wear it when I go clubbing and I have had a few compliments on it. It isn't the kind of watch that you would wear for work but I have a watch for that so it isn't a problem.
The time keeping has been good in the year or so that I have owned it and I've only twice had to adjust it by teletext to assure it was at the exact time. The watch takes one of those small round batteries that are easy to come by. I haven't had to replace mine yet but on the back it has one of those battery covers you use a coin or a knive to unscrew so I assume it can be replaced by yourself instead of having to take it to the jewelers since the whole back doesn't need removed.
All in all if you are looking for a great looking mans watch that offers a little colour and bling into your life then you can't go wrong with this one. For the money is looks good and works well.
I own this watch in black and I must start off by saying that it is gorgeous! I love its subtle resemblance to the Chanel J12, and the "diamonds" on the dial are lovely, they really sparkle in the light.
I purchased this for 110 Euros in Rome in 2007 (it's only £87 now!) and it really has served me very well indeed. The battery seems to be very long lasting (I haven't had to change it since then) - and it seems to be one that you can just buy from any store with batteries and replace yourself, the battery is exposed so you can literally just unscrew it yourself with a coin or maybe with your fingers (I haven't tried, I haven't needed to since it hasn't yet stopped but I imagine this is great for saving yourself the fees at a jewellers!)
2 and half years on, I have found that the metal has rubbed in places - it is on the underside and is pretty unnoticeable, but the black has rubbed away and you can see the silver underneath. I think the colour of mine really highlights this, if you got any of the other colours - it comes in several, pink, blue, gold, silver etc - then it probably would be barely noticeable at all.
I have had no mechanical difficulties at all with it, the chronograph has worked well. The glass lens does however scratch very easily - it is annoying when you accidentally just lightly scrape it against a wall and there are huge scratches and paint streaks on the glass. I have found that these can be buffed out with some vigorous rubbing using a jumper or cloth, (or failing that, a thumb!) but it can be irritating and unsightly. In the future if I had the budget I'd purchase a watch with sapphire glass instead.
But overall it is a very nice watch, it keeps time well, and I love the look of it! Highly recommended, and a pretty good price too for a nice heavy metal watch from a good brand known for its great designs!
