I have owned my Swatch Red Sunday watch for around two months now and have enjoyed being the owner of such a nice timepiece. I do have an ever growing collection of Swatch watches, but nothing beats buying a new watch. The Red Sunday is clearly just a name, the watch isn't red and Sundays are nothing special for this watch - it runs perfectly well through the week thank you very much! The face of the watch is of a standard size and the black plastic casing of the movement is finished off nicely with the addition of the black leather strap. The hands of the watch are white, with a red second hand. The numbers are also in white which stands out nicely against a black backdrop. The Red Sunday is water resistant, this means it will withstand the odd splash of water but this isn't to be mistaken for 'waterproof'.
The typical Swatch Swiss Quartz movement ensures an accurate and durable timepiece, and costing £36.50 directly from Swatch it is a reasonably priced watch from them. I did shop around online and paid just under £30 for my watch, but the Swatch website (http://eu-shop.swatch.com/gb/en/Home.aspx) has lots of useful information on the brand and their different styles of watches.
The feel of the Red Sunday is certainly one of a quality timepiece. The watch comes in a presentation box and 2 year guarantee which is always nice to see. it shows that Swatch are confident in the quality of their products. The Red Sunday suits most styles of fashion and I would say it can be worn casually or kept for special occasions. The look of the watch is that of a high quality and smart timepiece, but it doesn't look out of place in your t-shirt and shorts walking along the beach.
My girlfriend has always told me of the reliability and durability of swatch watches yet the ones i've always seen are gimmicky models which are not my style. My opinion changed totally when I came accross the simple attractive design of the Red Sunday model of Swatch.
It has a high quality black leather strap with black plastic fastenings that have witheld over 2 years wear and are still in perfect condition. The watch face itself is of a classic design that can be worn as a casual watch or it can be matched with a suit and does not look out of place.
The battery can be seen on the rear of the watch face and looks vey easy to remove although due to its great lifespan I haven't had to replace it as of yet.
I really cannot express enough how simple, elegant and perhaps most importantly cheap this watch is for its level of relaibility. Retailing at about £29 its really a snip as a durable everyday wear watch that is extremely resiliant and scratch resistant.
