As it was my Birthday a couple of months ago, I was asked to give present ideas to my family, the male members of which struggle to buy us females a present every time a Birthday or Christmas comes around. As one of my suggestions I did put a white watch, and upon opening my gifts I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I had in fact received two watches one being this Swatch Unisex Just White watch. Fortunately both watches were different in style and so I planned to use one for everyday wear and the other for slightly more formal occasions.
This watch comes presented in a thin rectangular shaped plastic case which is transparent in colour allowing you to see the watch inside. The watch itself is completely white in colour and features a white resin strap and buckle and a white face with the only contrast being in the form of the black numbers which are imprinted around the face of this watch and the black hands. On the centre of the face is the "Swatch Swiss" logo and this is the only indication of the make of this watch. In my opinion the look of this watch is quite clinical and it certainly doesn't feature any crystals or embellishments which would tend to give it a more feminine look. That being said, I really like the simplicity of the design and the fact that the white colour goes with everything in my wardrobe and looks great on my currently tanned arm.
Although useful to tell the time, it was also handy in my opinion that this watch has a couple of features which include fluorescent strips on the hands of the watch which allow the time to be visible in the dark and a water resistance depth of 30 metres. Although I do not tend to do a lot of swimming (unless I have the luxury of being on holiday), I am constantly washing up and washing my hands during the day therefore it was nice not to have to worry about the effects of water on this watch. The face on this watch is 34mm diameter and this means that the numbers are easily visible plus the fact that the strap of this watch has eight holes means that it can be fitted to the smallest of wrists.
In my opinion this watch looks classic and yet is also comfy enough to wear everyday. The neutral colour scheme means that it looks great with most of my wardrobe whilst the subtle branding such as the imprinted "Swatch" logo on the buckle of the strap add to the quality feel of this watch. The only issue that I have with this watch is the loud tick which is omitted from the seconds hand. Although I have sensitive ears, the tick is quite annoying particularly when I cannot have this watch in our bedroom at night as the loud tick keeps me awake. For this reason I have to take the watch off at the end of the day and store it in a room away from our bedroom in order not to hear the noise. Even now, sat in a quiet office the subtle tick can be heard and this might be distracting to some.
Although I did not buy this watch, I have seen it online from such retailers as the Watch Hut and it costs around £32 which I feel is very reasonable. This watch also comes with a two year manufacturers guarantee which in my opinion, ensures that this is a quality product.
Overall I really like the look of this watch and the fact that it sits snugly and comfortably against my wrist during the day. For this fact I am awarding this watch four stars, the only deduction being the one star for that loud tick.
I hope this review has been of some help and thanks for reading! x
