“ Brand: Swatch „
I love swatch watches and this one is not the first I have bought. I think the price is fair for the quality and design you get. The strap is made of a light, yet durable plastic which features a really nice design with asymmetrical shapes all over them.
I love how thin the dial is, making you feel as if you were wearing just a bracelet with the functionality of telling you the time with its, never out of fashion, analogue style. The dial's background is silver with pink numerals to match the strap.
I have had it already for a while and the battery seems eternal.. I do not even know when I will have to replace it, but anyway it is not a concern since they are quite cheap and even if the battery is dead, you can always show it off as an accessory.
Generally I think this device/accessory is absolutely a good purchase and will definitely look great with your outfits, especially in summer when the sleeves of your jumper is not covering your wrist.
I bought this Swatch Marble Time Watch for my daughter for christmas last year. She is thirteen years old and is very into cute, pink and girly at the moment. I saw it in the Swatch shop in Birmingham and thought it would be perfect for her. It was £55.00 when I bought it - which is usually more that I would spend on a watch for her since she always seems to loose them or break them within a few months - but I did think that she'd really like it and so went ahead and bought it for her.
I do have experience with Swatch myself - and a lot of it I have to say is not positive experience. Although the watches look bright, fun and funky, I don't think that, in general, they last very long. However, they generally are really attractive in design - which is why I have broken down and still bought one now and again! This is a prime example.
The strap of this watch is a mixture of a warm bubblegum pink and white. The main part of the strap is pink, and then randomly assigned along the strap are white squares of assorted sizes with pink circles (or marbles?) in the centre. The watch face itself is silver with pink numbering around the edge of the watch face in the typical 12 - 11 design. It does look like the type of watch that would suit a young girl rather than an older person and I'm sure that is the demographic that this watch is aimed at.
The strap is made of plastic and is fastened around the wrist with the typical buckle type fastener. There are eight different holes and so I imagine that this watch would fit the wrist of the vast majority of people. My daughter has very slender wrists and this does fit her wrist perfectly (and mine also). When you first put the watch on, the strap feels quite comfortable, but after a while, I guess because it's made of plastic, it gets pretty hot and sweaty and can feel quite uncomfortable, particularly in warmer weather. A good thing is that when it does get hot and sweaty, it can be taken off, given a wipe and then put straight back on again without being any the worse for wear. The most concerning thing however is that on two occassions we have had to get the metal pin which attaches the strap to the watch replaced as it has come unhinged and then the pin has got lost. I really don't think that watches should be coming apart in this way unless you're deliberately wanting to take it apart.
The watch face is silver and circular with pink numbering around the watch face. It is analogue in design, and it is easy to read off the time from the watch face. There is no second hand. The watch has no gadgets or gizmos - its just a simple watch. The watch does keep relatively good time, but my daughter tells me that every few months or so she has had to adjust the time as it accumulates about a 5 minute time lag over this period. The battery that was in it when I bought it for her is still in use and so hasn't needed to be replaced yet.
The watch comes with a two year manufacture warranty - which provides some peace of mind, but I suspect most people are like me and never follow it up when the Swatch falls apart!
Overall, I think this is an okay watch that I bought simply because of the way it looked. Its not the more sturdy or well made watch, and it's very basic - and probably overpriced - but my daughter likes it.
Swatch Marble Time Watch
I received my Swatch Marble time watch as a gift last Christmas for my daughter who has now passed it onto me. 'Would you like this watch mum?' .... ' Hmmmm... Ok, whats wrong with it?' .... 'Nothing mum, but its ......' (at this point she's pulling a face, so I'm guessing by her facial expression that its just not cool enough for a 17year old girl - not my daughter, anyway!) Personally I think its far better for a 17year old girl than a 36 year old mum, but hey-ho, each to their own. We all like different things!
This watch isn't exactly 'me', but I do like it's simple design and light feeling whilst wearing it. Marble soft rose in colour, the pink rubber strap covered in white little squares and random pink circles, has a silver 'Swatch' logo.
I would describe this watch as suitable for every day use. The face of the watch analogue in design is shiny silver in colour. With digit format numbers ( pink in colour) and white hands for minutes and hours, the clock face although small, is easy to read. The clock uses quartz movement so a battery is needed. I have had this watch a year so far and not had to replace the battery yet. It's still been running whilst not being worn, so I would consider it very reliable.
**Splash proof not Water proof**
My daughter has already informed me that her friend with the same watch went swimming with it on and it no longer works, so I think its worth baring that in mind if you want it to last! I've worn mine for washing up, although have made sure its not been submerged and I'll wear it for washing. I won't wear it in the shower or bath though. My watch has had the odd splash and been fine with a quick wipe.
**No adverse reaction for sensitive skin**
Having sensitive skin is always a pain when it comes to watches. This watch hasn't caused a problem at all and I've had to redness or soreness whilst wearing it. The buckle is comfortable and doesn't dig into the skin either, which is something that usually bugs me about watches.
**Complete with box - Makes for a Lovely Gift!**
Complete with presentation box, this watch makes for a great gift. I would say its more ideal for a young teenage girl, or a young lady that likes her pink things! It's listed as a ladies watch, but I still feel its more apt for a younger teenager. It's design is a little too ' girly' for me, and if it wasn't so comfy, I'd probably not even wear it full stop.
Overall - At an asking price of £50-£60, I don't think I would splash out on this watch as a gift. I believe I've seen nicer watches for that price and cheaper, however it would still make for a lovely gift for the right person!
Swatch have always done a variety of colourful and unique watches and the Swatch SFK315 Marble Time is no exception. It comes in a variety of different colours, my sister has the marble pink version which is a lovely soft rose colour. Plastic watches are quite in fashion I am told, this must justify the £55 she paid for it, because nice as it is I can't help thinking it is a bit overpriced, especially as I wouldn't count Swatch as a designer brand at all, or even a particularly memorable timepiece manufacturer, and that you can get a nice quality watch for this price.
That said, it does look nice and it is certainly easy to tell the time on it's clear, round face. It is fairly splashproof, I wouldn't recommend swimming with it on but it's fine for going out in a shower or for washing your hands - there is nothing there that could rust and it doesn't even steam up when warm. If this is worn on holiday it expands with your wrist so it is very comfortable to wear, in fact it's likened to a second skin, so that is a plus if you travel a lot.
Overall I do think it is a nice watch but it has no features other than being made of a soft plastic and telling the time clearly, so I do think it is somewhat overpriced. If you're keen on the look however and are thinking of buying one I can assert to it's being built well and in all likelihood this will last even the most brutal of commuters a good few years (as long as the fashion lasts that long too!)
My parents bought me this watch for my birthday, I still love it and often wear it. Its called the Swatch Ladies Marble Time Watch. As it was a gift I'm not sure how much was paid for it at the time but looking on-line today its roundabout £60.00.
This watch was launched in 2008.
The watch is so light and thin you barely know its there. It sits very neatly on my wrist and never slips around.
The strap is made from a thin flexible rubber type material. Mine is pink in colour but it is available in purple too. Its covered in white squares with little pink irregular circles inside them. It has the Swatch logo on the strap close to the buckle which is a silver colour.
I did wonder if the strap would be a bit sweaty and sticky in hot weather but that hasn't been the case.
The casing is clear plastic with a round brushed silver face set into it. This in turn has a circle pressed into it where the hands sit. The numbers are pink and are quite large and clear. The hands are white, which is nice. I sometimes like to be able to take a quick glance at my watch and know the time. Some of my watches have no numbers at all and the hands are really tiny. I find I don't always get the time right with a quick glance then, not good for work!!
My Swatch has a quartz movement and therefore requires a watch battery. It came in a presentation tin with Swatch written across the top. It also came with an instruction manual and a 2 year guarantee. Although it will withstand an accidental splashing this watch is not really waterproof and removing it before washing up etc is advised.
I would recommend the Swatch Ladies Marble Watch. Its pretty but not over girly if that's not your thing. I have found it has kept excellent time. Its nice and thin so it sits nicely on my wrist. Its great for work because it doesn't keep clanking on my desk as I write. In my opinion it would suit teenagers and ladies in their twenties, however that is just my personal opinion, others may think differently.
After owning this watch for just over a month now I thought it was time to suggest it as a new product to Dooyoo and to write my review. It was priced at £56 which was not a bad price but then again it is not a latest design as it first came out in 2008 however once I saw it in the shop I instantly liked the look of this simple skin design.
It is a very feminine pink watch that is light on your wrist and rather deinty, so far it has been reliable when it comes to keeping good time mind you that has never been a problem with any of the Swatches that I own. The strap is rubber and pink in colour with a pattern made up of white irregular rectangles with pink spots inside of them, it is a simple but attractive design that helps to set off nicely the watch itself.
The dial is a silver colour with an inverted inner circle and nice pink letters. The only slight problem I have found is that in bright, direct sunshine it can be a bit difficult to read the time as the watch hands are white and the combination of stainless silver, pink numerals and white hands are a bit hard to see.
On the plus side it is really thin and very lite and is an attractive simple rather girly watch that is well suited to a summers day not that we will have any of those to look forward to for a while. This is a watch I would recommend especially for teenagers and twenty somethings.
