Since I was a kid I've known the importance of wearing a good watch. In fact, my first watch was a Flik Flak (a division of swatch, funnily enough). Punctuality is important. As is style. On that basis, swatch watches are one of my favourite brands. Between my girlfriend and I we currently own six swatch watches (three each).

A little background on Swatch: Swatch is a swiss company which was formed in 1982 by Nicolas G. Hayek. The first range of swatch watches were available in 1983 and soon rose to fame. Swatch is famous for their watches but they also so a brilliant range of jewellery. Having bought some of this for the girlfriend, I can state that the quality and design is also of a very high standard.

When people think of Swatch watches they think of the gaudy plastic designs that were popular in the eighties and nineties but swatch can do much more than that. Some of their designs are really smart and elegant. They've got some really beautiful silver watches and watches with leather straps for both men and women. I've had one of their watches for years so I can state with certainty that they are very durable. Mine has stood up to some serious abuse.

Swatch watches are not exactly expensive either. Their cheapest watch is around £20 but you can get some models that cost upwards of £100. Considering the quality of the design and build, its more than worth it.
