A great watch for active people.

I have owned this Timex Ironman Watch for 3 years now since I bought it from new off eBay for £39.99. The RRP is about £60 so I am glad I got a good price. This watch is a sports watch and so is designed to be comfortable to wear and useful to use during training.

The actual watch piece is 4cm x 4cm with a screen that is 1.8cm x 2.6cm. It has a nice shiny metal finish around the screen that is then surrounded by plastic buttons. The strap is black and is made out of a very flexible resin material. It is from the "Ironman" series of watches, which is named after the Ironman Triathlons, which consist of a 3.8km Swim, 180km Cycle and a 42.2km Run, one after the other!

The watch is very comfortable to wear, and the clasp can be set to suit a wide range of wrists, from a diameter of 3.5cm to 7.5cm. The strap has lots of holes in it which makes it very breathable when you are wearing it and you don't get too sweaty when working out. The watch is waterproof to 100m, however the deepest that I have ever been with it is 3.5m so I have never had chance to properly test this claim fully. The five buttons on the watch control various functions:
Central Button: Is used to start/stop/lap the timer.
Bottom Left: Scans through the modes.
Top Left: Hold down to set time/timers/recall lap times.
Bottom Right: Press to stop timer, hold to reset timers.
      Top Right: Activates backlight.

The following functions are included in this watch:
3 x Alarms: I have found this handy sometimes but they aren't very loud, so I have never relied on them.
Interval Timer: You can set how long you want your interval to be. After each time period has elapsed, the watch will beep and restart the interval. It also counts the number of intervals that you have done which is very handy.
Timer: Press start and the timer will time you until you stay stop. Simple and easy to operate.
Lap Timer: This is like the timer except when you press the lap button, it will record the time for that lap then start timing the next lap. I have found this good when running on the track. It can record up to 50 laps which I have always found more than adequete.

I have found this to be an excellent watch that has been useful in my own training. I have found it looks good enough to be worn when training and when going about my day to day life. It is very comfortable and looks quite stylish for a sports watch. The battery on my watch finally went last week which I was quite sad about, however I am going to hopefully replace it this weekend and get this great watch working again!

I have used other sports watches in the past that incorporate other functions such as heart rate monitors and GPS, but this is still the easiest and most practical that I have used to date. Its simple design and easy to use functions make it a great watch to use for any active person. I have to rate this 5/5 as it is an excellent watch for anyone who is quite active. It can be used when swimming, cycling, running, in the gym, or anywhere that requires a timer!
