Advantages: Good face, lights up
Disadvantages: Not too comfortable, plain
My brother bought me this watch as a Christmas present and I have been wearing it intermittently since. I have never really been a big watch wearer as I find them cumbersome and uncomfortable, I also can only bear them on my right wrist, and being right handed, this tends to mean they get in the way or at least I feel them more while I'm writing and typing.
This watch is pretty delicate without looking flimsy or too girly. I would describe the look as function rather than fashion as it is not the most eye catching design but it does the job. The strap is plain and black and a narrow width (approx 11mm) and it is made of (as a stamp on the back of the strap tells me) genuine leather.
The underside of the strap has a pale brown layer and this is much softer than the black top side. This makes it comfortable and it doesn't slip around too much on your wrist. The strap has a small standard buckle type fastening and on there are 8 different holes in the strap, allowing people with a wide range of wrist sizes to wear the watch. I don't know who uses the largest size though as it is huge although I presume this is for people who like to hang their watches up perhaps? The smallest setting I think is adequate (I wear hole 3 and am generally classed to have small wrists so I think 2 more holes should suit those with really thin wrists just fine).
The face of the watch is surrounded in silver colour and it is shiny and nice looking. There is a small dial on the right hand side which is fairly easy to pull out to adjust the time and date. If you pull it out half way, you can adjust the date, if you pull it out all the way you can adjust the time. If you push it in, then the face lights up!
This watch is an 'indiglo' watch which means the face can light up. Like I said, this is done by pushing the dial inwards and it is really easy. This is a brill feature for being able to use your watch at night. The face lights up a bright blue colour and my only criticism is that the centre of the watch (where there are no numbers) lights up more than the numbers section, it would be better if this was the other way around.
The face has proper numbers on it all the way around. This is great if, like me, you like to see the numbers and can't stand those watches which only have a few numbers or dots on them. A quick glance is all you need to quickly and easily be able to tell the time.
This is really hard to do up with one hand. This might just be me but this is a real bugbear. Also like I mentioned, I don't get used to this watch being on my wrist and it doesn't seem to lie flat enough to the skin.
For the cheap price of £22ish I would get this for a school student perhaps but it is not a fashionable watch and it functions, but it isn't the best.
