Advantages: Looks cool; On the face it says TO and PAST so kids learn to tell the time quicker
Disadvantages: The strap gets dirty
I've had this watch for about a year, I KNOW it's a kids watch but I bought it for my mates little girl to start with and ended up keeping it because I lost it before her birthday so bought her something else and then found the watch a couple of weeks later.
It's a Timex watch and I think I paid about a tenner for it, it's a bit more than a watch because on the dial it says TO and PAST to help children learn how to say and recognise the right time.
I think the watch looks great, it's just the kind of fun and funky looking watch I like because even though I don't wear a watch ALL the time when I do feel like it I want something that's going to say something about me..... and also match what I'm wearing hopefully! The strap of the watch is stretchy material and does up by velcro, when a child is wearing it you can just fit the strap the first time they wear it and then the velcro will hold the strap together good enough for them to just pull it over their hand to save the stress of opening and closing the velcro every time. Even though my wrists are skinny I'm a bit big for this watch so always undo the strap, I don't want to put too much stress on the stretchiness of the strap even though it feels pretty strong so far.
The problem with the strap is that it gets a bit dirty, it doesn't show up all that bad because the purple of the strap is quite dark but once it does start looking dirty then you'll have to give it a bit of a clean with washing up liquid or something because it will stand out big time. A good thing is that the strap hasn't frayed at all and that has surprised me a bit because looking at the edges of the strap they don't look all that well protected so this watch must be brill quality.
I borrowed the watch to my sister a few months ago, she's 11 but is a bit weird with numbers so she's a bit slow at telling the time. She sussed it out dead quick using this watch because the thing she used to get mixed up with was when the time was TO or PAST the hour, she just couldn't get it through her head but with this watch it actually tells you when you're looking at the numbers. And that's not in your face either, it's a watch that teaches the time but in a subtle way and no way would any kid be embarressed to wear this like they would some of the other teaching watches.
Recommended..... a cute watch that will help little kids learn to tell the time!
