Brita Marella Water Filter
Advantages: clean great tasting water
I have worked on a trading estate for a number or years and at work we have to say that the water tastes disgusting, it is not even worthy of putting the water and boiling it in the kettle for our cups of tea and coffee let alone drinking it.
This is where I opted to purchase a filter jug to filter the water before boiling it and the one that I went for was the Brita Marella White Water Filter Jug. Brita was a brand that I have heard of for a number of years and there were various family members that already used Brita Jugs and recommend them to me.
The Brita Marella Water Filter Jug has a capacity to hold 2.4 litres of water, although only 1.4 litres of the water is filtered the other litre is in the filter chamber waiting to be filtered and ready to use. The lid of the filter jug has an electronic indicator on the top to remind you to change the filter cartridge in your jug. It is also slim enough to fit into your fridge door should you rather have chilled filtered water.
The jug takes Maxtra cartridge which is available from a wide variety of shops and it removes all of the lime scale, impurities and chlorine that are in the water. The lid of the just is especially designed to allow you fill the jug with ease from the tap with its flip lid.
When you take the jug out of the box it is easy to assemble, the longest part of the whole process is waiting for the jug to filter the water and empty it to filter again before you can use it.
When I change the cartridge I always take the jug home and put it into the dishwasher so it has a sterilized proper clean, the only part of the jug that cannot be put into the dishwasher is the lid as this has the electronic filter indicator in the top of it.
This jug cost £18.00 when I purchased it and I have now been looking around and have found this jug available for under £15, which I think makes it worth every penny. I would recommend that you shop around for the cartridges as they come in pack of 4 and eight, the last pack I picked up was on special on Amazon for under £30 and as each cartridge last approximately one month it is very cost effective for around £3.50 a cartridge and a daily cost of around 12p.
I cannot say a single bad word about the Brita Marella Water Filter, it does everything that I need at work, the only problem is that some people never fill it up after they have used it, which means I have to wait to filter the water before I can boil the kettle, which can be time consuming.
Overall this water filter is great and it allows me to be able to drink at work again without having to pull a face with every sip that I take. It I was to compare it against a bottle of water I would not be able to tell the difference between them now.
Summary: great water again
