Speedo Vanquisher 2.0 Goggles
When I started to take up swimming again late last year the first thing that became a problem was my eyes. My eyes have really gotten worse in the past few years and the simple fact is they are irritated easily and this does not bode well for chlorine infested water. So it was pretty obvious that if I wanted to continue swimming as part of my get fit programme I needed some goggles.
There was little research or planning into buying this. I simply went for a brand name......Speedo of course being the only real swimming related manufacturer I was aware of and everything I had brought from them in had been solid and reliable. These are no different.
All I remember from wearing Goggles at school was that they dug in, left nasty marks and were a pain to wear often not even doing the job they should. To be fair that is probably because I had cheap brands but that is not a problem with Speedo's. I paid £7.99 for this in a local sports shop which I thought was good value for me and it has proved it be.
Like all modern goggles these are light and barely feel any weight at all. The whole construction is very solid and I have every confidence they will last, the abuse they get going on and off the head means they have to be tough and after about 10 months they still look brand new.
The elastic is thin and soft which means it does not dig into the side of the head and does cut around the ears. It feels very natural and comfortable. They are easily to adjust and have quite a range on them so for this reason they will suit all kinds of user.
These Vanquisher goggles also do the job they should have keep the eyes free from water. Although they do make thinks look uncomfortably dark they do not fail in the key areas of comfort and performance. The suction to the eyes is measured well so that they do provide protection and keep the eyes dry but they also do not cause pain. I can easily leave these on for a full session without having to take them off to give the skin around my eyes a rest. This suction power means they stay on well even when diving and give you confidence in swimming without the worry you are soon going to get an eyeful.
All in all whatever you are doing in the pool these are a fantastic bit of kit which are value for money and I would recommend fully!
