I paid £100 for this weather station and its really designed for the beginner user, it has a very small outside weather system and its not 100% accurate but if you just love seeing how cold or hot it is outside like i do, then yes this is for you. In the box you get a touchscreen "tablet" weather screen, a CD and a build it yourself weather station with cable ties to hold it together in strong winds.
The thing thats trikes me about this weather station is the fact that it never needs new batteries. I only just replaced the first batteries from the screen a few months ago and I've had it nearly a year and a half, and the ones in the remote outside have never been replaced, they just send a quick burst of power when new weather information comes through from outside. Its very easy to use because you just link the screen with the transmitter outside and thats it, you never have to touch it again and the build it yourself design has straight forward instructions and only a few screws. You will need your own screwdriver though.
@ Tablet/Screen @
The screen itself is made from a very smooth rubber like plastic and because its very sensitive you only need to gently tap it once to get it to light up, and the backlight will stay on for a few seconds. The thing that annoys me with the screen is the beeping noise it makes every single time you touch the screen and you cant turn it off. The screen uses very simple icons and symbols such as a sun hidden behind a cloud or rain drops. When the temperature gets to -0.1*C if it thinks it will rain snow drops will appear instead of rain.
@ Outdoor Unit @
For accuracy i cant award more than 4 stars because it is great for temperature, pressure and wind but for near future weather forecasting its terrible, it constantly thinks it will rain or be cloudy. The temperature is made much more accurate because the sensor is sheltered from the wind in an aerodynamic compartment on top of the outside unit. The build quality is great, i have never had anything break and it has withstood 70MPH winds without snapping or being destroyed by any adverse weather. With 1ft of snow on top thanks to last years winter, it didn't get crushed and still accurately measured the temperature.the outside unit is excellent, good build quality and in most places, very accurate.
@ Overall @
Top quality weather station, durable in adverse weather and quite accurate. Highly recommended for those curious about weather.
