If you're looking for a webcam let me tell you what you need/want.
something easy to set up.
Something that plugs in and installs almost instantly.
Something that won't take up much space.
And most importantly something that will take great videos and pictures so you can video call with those you love, or just have fun meeting people on sites such as chatroulette (however i warn you the majority of 'people' are just penises)
One day I went to my dads office and there was this webcam - i thought 'cool' we can skype our italian relatives (in italy). We tried it out, and... Fail.
The picture quality is rubbish. It takes ages to install and requires a disc (which we lost). Its almost impossible to get it to stay in place (especially on laptops that move around). And has had more glitches and problems then i care for.
I regret, on behalf of my father, to take the cheaper option. Nowadays you can easily find something of an amazing quality, with High Definition recording and clear microphone for under £100. There is no price on being able to see your own family.
As if that wasn't enough if you're in a dark environment guess what DOESN'T have flash... this webcam
I tell you, its not worth the £7 or so, that you can get it for on ebay.
I would mainly recommend this to either someone who would like a good-value-for-money webcam for either a holiday, or just talking to friends on IM. Personally, I purchased this when I was traveling to stay in touch with people and it was pretty much stress-free throughout.
It's also good for people who don't have a very technical grasp of their computer. It's very, very simple to set up. It attaches easily by USB and then just takes a CD to install. It's quick, simple and does what it says on the tin.
For it's price, the picture is good and doesn't have too much static or interference. The colour can vary, sometimes it's bleeds a little or comes out too bright, but overall it's OK. A nice little addition is the microphone, which I never had any problems with, and the function of taking videos.
However, if your intention is to make videos to put online, or you really want an excellent quality of picture, then this product isn't for you. It's cheap, but won't satisfy you if that's what your looking for due to varying levels of fuzziness. And the limited options of adding cool little effects, or editing pictures would probably irritate you as well.
