I recently installed a WinTV Go tv-tuner card and couldn't believe how simple it was. Take time to read the instructions which are quite clear and concise and remarkably short. After installing the card and attaching the provided cable from the line out on the tv card to the line in on the soundcard, its time to reboot your system. Windows 98 found the new card instantly and asked for the provided CD-ROM. They for some reason provide 2 versions of software both of which are said to do the same job, (a touch confusing). Having completed that refering to the instuctions, you then click a button and it auto tunes itself. Picture ... Read the complete review

All you need is a screwdriver and a small amount of common sense and you will have a working TV Tuner in your PC in no time at all. The instructions are clear and precise, but if you are like me and the majority of PC 'fiddlers' you will read that only if things are going wrong. It doesnt matter which you do, as it is as easy as putting in the card into a PCI slot, switching on the PC, putting the driver disk in the drive, telling 98 to look there for it, and clicking OK or NEXT a few times, and BINGO it is all done. My Dad could even do it, and he is an idiot when it comes to his PC! If you are concidering getting a TV card - get this one, ... Read the complete review

What a great idea! Watch TV on your computer. I grabbed this card when I saw it in the shop on sale. Got it home, shoved it in, and nothing happened! Getting anything tuned in from a portable arial was virtually impossible, and in the end I just made do with the video. The quality was pretty attrocious, but what do you expect for 50 quid? I could live with that! I know, lets try to rip a video. Great, encoded it (eventually!) but no sound! Cant figure this out (Can anyone tell me?) And the encoding was mega slow, Ive got a very fast PC and expected it to be pretty snappy. Also, my webcam now wont work :( Apart from this, a great idea, shame about these bugs. ... I wanted a capture card which did the job, but without pricing me out of favour with my credit cards. Happauge was one of the cheaper ones, and I promptly bought it - mainly for capturing tv images. The only problems I had was setting up the audio - I had to purchase a scart to phono lead, and then another adapter for that, when the time came to want to capture sound! This was a bit of an inconvenience, but now it's all set up and working I love it! It's very simple to install the card, and the software is easy to use. ... Read the complete review
