Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: uses lots of batteries
We got our Kodak DC215 digital camera free with our Personal Computer and obviously was not chosen for our needs specifically. Normally, when you are purchasing something of this nature, we would try and inspect all the various digital cameras that are available in our price range. This was not thie case here. However, once we got the time to try out this product, we were pleasantly surprised!! We were thinking.............free...........must be rubbish then. They on earth are they giving it away for if it is any good. We first tried it out on Mother's Day this year. The whole family, children, husbans, grandchildren, etc all went out to the local golf club to have lunch. We took many photos and they ALL came out excellent. I was surprised at how easy this camera is to operate. It is so simple. I though digital camera..........difficult camera!! Not so. It has the small screen to see what you are viewing and once you get used to the few seconds delay in actually taking the phot, it was a piece of cake. When we downloaded onto the Pc, the photos were really good. It was so easy to download that my 10 year old daughter does it now. Obviously the printing quality depends on your printer also, but we found it to be good. One suggestion I would make is when you are downloading onto PC, it is advisable to use a mains adapter as it does tend to run the batteries down. This is also true for when you use the video screen a lot. There is a choice of quality settings and we found that apart from very, very special occasion when you would want the quality to be absolutely spot on, you can leave the setting on 'Good' and it really is good enough for everyday prints. When you have the Setting on 'good' you get 27 photos. when it is on 'better', you get 20 and on 'best' you get 12. Not Bad.
