Advantages: Perfect quality, ease of use, easily emailed, printed, etc.
Disadvantages: LCD screen and nose are at the same height when focussing :o))
Hubby and I bought our digital camera about 18 months ago. We checked out a few different packages, and decided on the Kodak because of the ease of use. It definitely isn't one of the prettiest cameras on the market, but what it lacks in style in makes up for in performance. Ease of use is amazing. Simply press the button and take your photo. Check the photo out on the LCD screen at the rear of the camera, no good, "bin" it and take some more. Simple. I have two picture cards with my camera, one of 8mb and one 4mb - so even if I take enough "good" shots to fill up the 8mb I still have the 4mb to fall back on. Excellent value for money. Although I bought it when it was new on the market and cost over £350 it came with a battery charger (invaluable), rechargeable batteries, four normal batteries (so you can get going straight away), the two picture cards mentioned above, all the requisite leads and some photo software. The "Picture Easy" software is excellent and so easy to use. Well worth loading. Photos are very simple to upload to the computer, where you can edit them to your heart's content. Picture Easy also makes pictures easy to email, and you make your own albums to store your photos in some sort of order. I find the Kodak DC 240 is excellent - and if I could buy one all over again I would probably go for exactly the same model. The only drawback I can find is I keep smudging the LCD screen with my nose when I focus - a small price to pay though. Highly recommended. Buy one - you won't regret it.

- 10/09/00 Yes, it has proper focusing. If you half press aiming at the background, then fully press on the subject the photo will be sharp and quick. If you don't half press first, the auto focus takes about half a second to adjust, and by then the shot can be ruined. |

- 07/09/00 Does it have proper focusing? I had a DC210+ and had to get rid of it because it had a fixed-focus lens which resulted in very soft pictures (i.e. no half press to focus). |
