These photos will be recognised as JPEG images on your computer, which means that they will open up with pretty much any photo editing package you happen to have installed. Conclusion Ease of use and reliability are the two good reasons for considering this camera. On top of this it has also proved to be good value for money for it has continued to take decent quality photos after 3 years of daily use and abuse ...more

Crowned ReviewKodak DC 280: A reliable photographic friend! (1115 words)

The Kodak DC280 is a 2.0 Megapixel digital zoom camera. I purchased this camera on behalf of the company I work for and paid £350 for it about 3 years ago. At the time I purchased this camera I thought that it was pretty good value for money considering the ease of use and features it had. At that time 2.0 Megapixels was a pretty good picture quality, just shows how times move on with 8 Megapixel and better cameras now on the market! This camera has seen a great deal of service in the hands of the many staff members who have used it over the past 3 years, and has stood up to the abuse thrown at it! The camera is still in daily use here although it is a ...  Read the complete review

I bought my DC280 in January 2001 – it was bundled with a Lexmark P11 colour printer, total cost £360. For that price I got: - Lexmark Pll colour printer - DC280 digital zoom camera - AC Adapter - Battery Charger - 4 * AA rechargeable batteries - battery charger - 4 * standard batteries (a nice touch as you are able to use the camera immediately while waiting for the rechargeable batteries to charge up) - 8MB memory card - serial connector - USB connector - Kodak software for windows and Macintosh Resolution - The DC280 has a maximum picture resolution of 2.3 mega pixels which gives very high ...  Read the complete review

Kodak DC 280: Kodak DC280 - The right digital camera (488 words)

I purchased my Kodak DC280 in mid April this year after months of reading reviews and probably most importantly shopping around on price. What finally did for me was when Kodak dropped the price by £100 to a price of £399.95. That is pretty expensive but worth it in my opinion. There are principally 2 types of memory card available for digital cameras (if you ignore Sony's memorystick which is proprietary) they are Smartmedia and CompactFlash. Kodak have adopted the CompactFlash type which currently has cards from approx 4Mb to 192Mb in density. The DC280 comes with an 8Mb card included. The camera has a) 2 resolutions : High - 1760x1168 pixels and Standard - ...  Read the complete review

If you're looking to buy a new camera then please do not look further than this. This camera is easy to use, even for someone who is less than David Bailey! The pictures you produce have three main quality settings, the higher the quality the less pictures it takes, but even on the lowest setting they are amazing. On the highest quality they are mind blowing. Once you've taken the pictures you can load them onto your PC with ease, and admire your handywork. I made an extra purchase of a 32 Mb memory card (it comes with 8 Mb) and would sincerely advise anyone to do this. The extra money is well spent as it allows you to take well in excess of 100 pictures. ...  Read the complete review

Kodak DC 280: A cracker of a camera (135 words)

Like several other reviewers, I waded through magazines reading up on cameras before making a purchase, and did they get it right! A beautifully built piece of kit, easy to use, producing truly stunning results. Mine came with an additional memory card and batteries/charger, link cable plus Kodak's imaging software. I don't use this as I already had a cardreader hooked up to my PC, plus Corel's excellent Photopaint to manipulate the images. Getting started couldn't be easier, and with the screen on the back you can review your masterpiece (or otherwise) straight away. Overall, a sound investment I woudl recommend to anyone.
