I bought this web-cam as an extra with the PC. It was meant to be used as a camera more so than a web-cam even though the resolution on it wasn't great. At the time digital cameras were more expensive and I figured this would be something to experiment with.

When it arrived, I was a bit disappointed with it. It is a little bulky but looks good for a web cam. It makes an irritating beep noise when you use a function, but you can turn the sound off.

It does come with a programme which will let you use it as a web cam, create a web album, broadcast live video and also comes with a motion detector. Though I have to admit, I haven't used many of these functions.

You are able to take 20 second video clips at the low-resolution (without sound). The quality of these is pretty good, but bewares of moving too fast as it will appear jumpy in places.

As I had bought it for taking photos, I have to admit it doesn't perform this function well. The 640x480 pictures come out looking distorted/blurry in places. The 160x120 pictures look good, but they are just too small. Also, there are no flash features, and even though you can adjust the lighting once you have taken the picture (or while you taking it, if it is connected to your PC), avoid dark places.

All in all, it's pretty good for those who want to use it as a web cam and don't want to spend too much or want anything too fancy. But I bought it as an impulse buy and for the wrong reasons, and if you buy it to take photos and videos...it's just not good enough.
