I have had this webcam now for maybe 5 years. Its been a very long time, I remember that much! When I was younger I always wanted to have webcam chats with all of my friends at school and college on MSN. It just seemed so much easier than typing (and a lot more fun!). I looked online and came it across cheap on amazon in one of their deals. I think it was around £15 in the deal which at the time was a very good price so I put my order down straight away!

When I recieved the webcam it didnt seem too hard to workout. I plugged it in whilst it installed some drivers, however this didnt seem to work straight away. Due to this I then searched through the box and realised it came with a CD. After installing the CD it was working perfectly! I install the drivers as well as the QuickCam software.

The QuickCam software has some great features, letting you be able to record video and take pictures at any time as well as changing the setting of the colour, saturation and many more. You can even flip it so it is mirrored either vertically or horizontally. This means no more having to try and read signs on webcams that come out backwards!

After using it for several months of me practicing guitar recording videos I noticed that the sound would work upto about 30 seconds then it would just be a constant loud white noise. I had this problem even with MSN conversation so I could no longer use it for video calls, but only just the webcam and type the conversation. I was annoyed by this and blamed the webcam for many months.

Recently however I have reformatted my computer and everything on it so I had to reinstall the drivers. Since doing this Ive not had that single problem so Im guessing it was an error on my computer before so I cannot put this blame down to the webcam itself.

The image quality is good enough for any chats which I know use on Skype and the microphone is very clear. There are never any real hiccups with this product and if it did by any chance break, I definately see myself picking up another as it has been a very useful tool for me!
