Logitech Quickcam E 3500

Before my review, I'll like to say that this is my second webcam, the first being a really cheap one that broke a couple of months after I bought it. There comes the first lesson, boys and girls: Open your wallet wider and spend a little more money. You get what you paid for, that's for sure. In December 2008, Swiss company Logitech produced its one billionth mouse. Quite a milestone for any company. Now we're all aware of Logitech's reputation in hand-held pointer devices, but how does it fair when it comes to webcams? This is a fabulous buy. At such a cheap price its such a great deal. If you havn't used a webcam before you really are in for a treat, its amazing that you can see and speak with people the other side of the world, and there is no delay. Its very easy to install by plugging it in a USB port, a very easy to install disk. Its ready to use in no time. The camera is a great size, great colours can be seen, and sound is perfect. Why go all out and buy and expensive camera when the Logitech Quick cam does everything you would need. With the integrated webcam on my laptop lid having just died, I was in the market for a webcam, and when I saw that WHSmiths were selling this for a shade under £10, I thought i mite as well give it a go. Installation of the webcam is very easy - I didn't even have to install the 3rd party software - Windows detected it immediately, and I was able to set it up with instant messaging services such as MSN in a matter of seconds. I have always used logitech where ever i can. They are known for their reliability, quality and customer support all of which matter when choosing the right make. Now the build quality is very impressive. Everything is firmly attached and i know from experience it can take being thrown around a bit if that's anything to go by with the build quality. The webcam is so easy to sit up on your laptop/monitor and position, it has no chance of falling off if you knock the monitor as long as you made sure its up there properly.
