I spend a lot of time on the road and don't always get chance t speak to my mates and see them as much as I woul like to so last weekend I invested in the Logitech Quick Cam Messenger.
I wasn't looking for anything too over priced and just wanted something basic and once getting it home and installing it for the price I paid, it is everything that I need and more.
The Quick Cam Messenger is compatible with Windows 2000/ XP and also all major messaging applications including MSN, Yahoo Messenger, Skype, AOL etc etc.
The Cam comes with HP PhotoSmart Software and also a disk to actually install the CAM, as with any software this is extemely user friendly and easy to install as it has a wizrd like most things and I didn;t come across any problems so is very user friendly.
Once installed you are away, I personally use MSN most of the time, I CAM inself has three changable outer shells if you want to colour co-ordinate it with your machines and it is universal so it sits perfectly on either a PC, Flatscreen or Laptop as some cams are only PC or laptop specific. It has a small button on the top of it if you want to take pictures, however if you open the application you can take pictures just by the touch of your mouse.
The picture is very crisp and also has clear audio as it is built in with RightSound technology so you can have a proper conversation too.
The static resolution of this cam is 320 pixels by 240 pixels and software enhanced it can be 640 pixels by 480 pixels. The video resolution is exactly the same too.
It somes supplied with a 2m USB cable so ideal for any machine whether you harddrive is located on the floor or something.
A cheap CAM that doesn't cost the earth, I purchased mine from Argos at £19.99 and now I can keep in touch with all my friend whilst I am out and about.
