The Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 is a very good quality webcamera, suitable for far more than just video chat on MSN or on Skype.

It is quite bulky compared to other similar models on the market - it's not really suitable for carrying with a laptop, for example. The stand for this camera is particularly designed to sit on the top of flat screen monitors; unfortunately, this makes it a bit of a pain on old fashioned CRT monitors...

The lens on this camera is good quality - all photos and videos come out very well from this camera. It also has a very good quality microphone, better quality than a lot of sound-card ones, with good filtering of ambient noise, making it prefect for gaming or voice calls on your PC.

The software that comes with this camera is very good, allowing digital "enhancement" to your calls - like replacing your head with an alien - but this gets old very quickly. More useful is the "RightLight" technology, which fixes problems with over-bright and over-dark rooms.
