I purchased this webcam about a year ago purely for personal use and I have found it to be a fairly decent webcam which I can happily recommend.
This 8mp webcam gives a clear picture with no fuzziness and also detects movement pretty well with its ability to pick up 30 frames per second. This means there is hardly ever any freezing in unflattering frames. The webcam has a built in microphone which is, again, of a high quality and picks up sound well and can be used for video calling, taking photographs or filming videos. All of which are very easy and simple to do and have great results.
If video calling is your main purpose for using a webcam then this is definitely a great little device. Not only is the image created clear and the built in microphone of a high quality but it is also compatible with IM. It is easy to show your face and make your voice heard to friends and relatives using Skype, windows live messenger, yahoo messenger and AOL instant messenger. Whatever you use, chances are this webcam is going to compatible.
I personally use my mine with Skype to stay in contact with family since I moved away. I find it very easy to set up with clear instructions meaning this is great if you're not a technology expert.
The webcam also features HD video recording giving you an even clearer picture in your videos. If video uploading is your thing then videos shot using this webcam can be quickly and easily uploaded to youtube with no hassle whatsoever.
Taking pictures is also great using this webcam. It has 'RightLight 2' technology which means the camera instantly adjusts to give the picture the best possible lighting, clear pictures are still possible even in poorly lit rooms. It also has an excellent auto-focus. Logitech boast that images will still be razor sharp even in close ups up to 10cm away from the camera lens. I decided to test this out myself by simply taking a close picture of my eye and can honestly say they are not lying. The picture was still clear and even brought up a clear view of tiny smudges in my eye liner. (Although I guess this could be seen as a bad thing)!
On top of all of this the webcam also has Logitech video effects built it. A simple click of a button can turn your human face into a sharks face whilst still copying your head, eye and mouth movements - something my little sister finds hilarious when video calling her. You can also add funky glasses to your face and a whole host of effects to spice up your video call.
All in all this a great little webcam and could easily be used in an effective way for business use as well as personal. I love it and have yet to find a webcam in the same price range of this which boasts such wonderful features.
The world is a big place, especially with friends and family spread out from coast to coast. Fortunately, the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 can bridge any distance, and you'll look good doing it with the help of Zeiss optics with autofocus.
