... something maybe a bit better on stills as interpolated 5Mp isn't as good as true 5Mp, but again for the money it's a minor niggle and not one that will affect most people when you get a 8Mp camera on your phone these days!
I highly, highly recommend the Mikomi 5MP webcam to anyone looking for an easy to use webcam with a decent picture quality with the added bonus of a built in webcam that's pretty decent, too. For under £10 you just cannot go wrong - it's an essential....more

I needed a cheap webcam for my laptop when my dad decided he'd like to start using Skype and video chatting with me, so I purchased the Mikomi 5MP Webcam for £9.99 from Argos about 2 years ago. It is now out of stock there but you can still buy it on Ebay for around £8. Mikomi is actually a part of Alba which is known in the UK for cheaper electrical items. The webcam itself is a decent design and this is what attracted me to it initially, it is nice and thin and clips right on to the top of the laptop screen - due to it having a clip rather than a stand it is more suitable for laptop users than desktop. Last year my daughter was lucky enough to receive her own laptop for Christmas. She was over the moon with it as it was a great surprise for her. Needless to say she now spends about an hour a night giggling away to her friends on MSN. Not only do they send typed messages to one another, but out comes the webcam and microphone for even more fun.
