A brilliant piece of kit. I found it intuitive and helpful. It all made sense when I used it and unlike with certain software, I didn't have to think where everything was. Everything was in the right location. it has the significant might of Adobe to back it up so its compatibility is excellent. Its not all perfect though. My computer struggled with the load time and I found myself druming my thumbs on various occasions. Also, I found it cause my computer to crash 1 in 10 times I used it however I run 32 bit Vista, an unreliable Operating System. On my MacBook laptop, 3 years old now, I had none of these issues but found it slightly less intuitive. It seemed to me that they spent less time making the mac version make sense and more time making it professional. However, this portrays the current market trend towards Windows computers. I can't comment on Mac Leopard as I run Tiger. I would recommend XP as it is widespread enough to have enough development to be intuitive but none of the issues of Vista (apart from load time). A final footnote would be that many of the issues are because I have a relatively low power computer on all the OS tests I ran and the majority of the issues could have been solved by more processing power and RAM. Overall, well worth the £54.80. Although I spent much of this review moaning, I found it makes web design that little bit easier.
one of the best peices of software on the net and makes designing pro web sites all that bit easier.
and these tutorials help even more by going over exactly what to do and doing it step by step allows for novice users of adober dream weaver cs3 or cs4 to make some wonderfull web sites with ease and with out to much hassle.
also to install this it is realativly easy as is all adobe products now a days and of course they are really really user freindlyso that any body can get in to using this with out getting to confused or stuck trying to under stand how to do things and of course you can go at your own pase so if theres any particular thing you get stuck with then you can simpley repeat that step and go back over it until you get it working.
There is no doubt that Adobe Dreamweaver is a brilliant software package that allows you to create a stunning website. However there is also doubt that Dreamweaver isn't the simplest software to get to grips with, just the idea of learning HTML code gives me a headache. But at the end of the day if you want to get the full benefits on offer and want to really excel then this "Core Video Training" for Dreamweaver CS3 & CS4 from Mediaroots is the ideal solution.
While I'm a big fan of several Adobe products especially the photographer's best friend Photoshop, I had never used or even dreamed of using Dreamweaver. I had no idea what to expect from this Video training, and whether or not I would be able to keep up with it all.
Thankfully, this software features easy to understand, and comprehensive tutorials delivered by Stuart Hogton and Adam Stoke which allows the user to learn at their own pace using an informative and inspiring method. The tutorials really are great, and the two instructors are excellent in arming you with everything necessary to start a website from scratch, from the absolute basics, to more advanced topics such as integrating music files and flash animations, all are covered in brilliant and again easy to follow details.
The software is structured in such a way that it gives you the ability to skip certain topics or to go backwards and redo something that your not too sure about. This was a great advantage as you can skip things that you already know and spend more time on what you don't - saying that I didn't know that much, so I had to work through it from beginning to end.
What I enjoyed the most were the practical exercises, which really helps to retain what you have learned. It's all too easy to sit and watch a video showing you how to do something, but it's a far greater and rewarding experience to then have to use the information, and the software allows you to do just that.
More importantly the interactive elements and exercise in this video training, makes becoming fluent in what is probably the industry standard of web creation easy and painless. I had great fun using this tutorial and it has given me the knowledge and skills, but more importantly the confidence to be able to use Dreamweaver to its maximum potential, and if necessary create my own website (which I will be looking in to doing in the future.)
Overall an excellent purchase if your thinking about a new career in the web industry, wanting to update your current Dreamweaver skills, or for someone who simply wants the satisfaction to be able to create their own website out of nothing.
If Dreamweaver doesn't interest you but something else does, then it's also worth noting that there are other training titles available from Mediaroots to cover different software from Adobe, Quark, and Apple.
