Advantages: Great Tutorials, Very Useful Practical Exercises, Easy To Learn At Your Own Pace.

Disadvantages: Not Much Use If You Don't Use Or Want To Learn Dreamweaver.

There is no doubt that Adobe Dreamweaver is a brilliant software package that allows you to create a stunning website. However there is also doubt that Dreamweaver isn't the simplest software to get to grips with, just the idea of learning HTML code gives me a headache. But at the end of the day if you want to get the full benefits on offer and want to really excel then this "Core Video Training" for Dreamweaver CS3 & CS4 from Mediaroots is the ideal solution.

While I'm a big fan of several Adobe products especially the photographer's best friend Photoshop, I had never used or even dreamed of using Dreamweaver. I had no idea what to expect from this Video training, and whether or not I would be able to keep up with it all.

Thankfully, this software features easy to understand, and comprehensive tutorials delivered by Stuart Hogton and Adam Stoke which allows the user to learn at their own pace using an informative and inspiring method. The tutorials really are great, and the two instructors are excellent in arming you with everything necessary to start a website from scratch, from the absolute basics, to more advanced topics such as integrating music files and flash animations, all are covered in brilliant and again easy to follow details.

The software is structured in such a way that it gives you the ability to skip certain topics or to go backwards and redo something that your not too sure about. This was a great advantage as you can skip things that you already know and spend more time on what you don't - saying that I didn't know that much, so I had to work through it from beginning to end.

What I enjoyed the most were the practical exercises, which really helps to retain what you have learned. It's all too easy to sit and watch a video showing you how to do something, but it's a far greater and rewarding experience to then have to use the information, and the software allows you to do just that.

More importantly the interactive elements and exercise in this video training, makes becoming fluent in what is probably the industry standard of web creation easy and painless. I had great fun using this tutorial and it has given me the knowledge and skills, but more importantly the confidence to be able to use Dreamweaver to its maximum potential, and if necessary create my own website (which I will be looking in to doing in the future.)

Overall an excellent purchase if your thinking about a new career in the web industry, wanting to update your current Dreamweaver skills, or for someone who simply wants the satisfaction to be able to create their own website out of nothing.

If Dreamweaver doesn't interest you but something else does, then it's also worth noting that there are other training titles available from Mediaroots to cover different software from Adobe, Quark, and Apple.

I've never used Dreamweaver, but have recently started using Contribute. I had to re-do the company website from scratch!! Nooooo! lol. Great read.

I still find dreamweaver tricky, even though i've got a masters in design for digital media. :)
