Advantages: So bloody easy to use, Professionals can easily insert their J.Scritps & so on, beginners will get a great result.

Disadvantages: Netscape Navigator doesn’t support it properly!

My Long awaited review is here!
If you think I hate Microsoft from my WinME review, I don't.
· This piece of software is one of Microsoft’s best!
· If you are a Beginner with creating websites then I recommend this product. And if you are already used to creating advanced websites then I also recommend this product. It is for all ranges, from Beginners to Advanced.
· Why is this so good, well for starters its so easy to use! It eliminates the need to have to type things like <B> for bold in HTML, thus making sure you can’t forget anything. You can literally design a fairly good website in a day, and I mean it. I went to a Microsoft 2000 show, and two people that were presenting the show were given 3 minutes to design a website with graphics, bullet points, hyperlinks etc. and post it up on the Internet, they both managed to do it with nano seconds to spare. Obviously the average user isn’t going to do that, but feel free to give it a go.
· It has many advantages against the FrontPage Express which in my opinion is very poor compared.
· With FrontPage 2000 you have the option to include Themed designs (Microsoft Themes), if you are really stuck for website looks then use them, but try not to as they will get in the way if you start to learn advanced HTML.
· You can create any website you wish, with easy to use tools, that are the same as other products in the Microsoft Office range.
· FrontPage 2000 sets out your files in a nice orderly fashion and is as easy to use as Windows Explorer. You can easily manage the files as well with simple cut, copy and paste etc.
· If you decide you want to make a huge website then you have tools such as ‘viewing reports‘ which allows you to see any broken hyper links (lets face it you don’t want to have to try out every hyperlink), Component errors, slow loading pages and much more.
· Inserting your Java, Flash or any other plug in couldn’t be ea
sier. You can easily create simple Guest books, or Feedback forms with Wizards to help.
· If you like viewing HTML then you can, no need for Notepad any more, there is an HTML tag to click on and your away.
· It is so easy to post your website just a few clicks and FrontPage sorts it all out for you.
· You have the ability to do everything possible with HTML, and DHTML.
· If you can get Microsoft Visual Interdev then it will complete everything, this allows you to create very basic or advanced Java scripts. It also does a lot of other stuff as well.

CONS:
· You need to host your website on to a server that supports FrontPage Extensions.
· You need to have a good amount of cash ready to buy this product. If you are a student then get a student licence.
· You need to Design your website for Netscape Navigator which is a pain!

I would like to point out that, I recommend you get a book to go with this software as there are lots of tools that you may not know are there.

If you are looking for a similar product try Dreamweaver, its not exactly competeing with Microsoft as Microsoft use it them selves.

Savanna:
Personally I have never used Quark or know what type of product it is, but I wouldn't recommend FrontPage for a DTP Course, I recommend Microsoft Publisher 2000 for DTP work. If you then want to make your MSPub documents into a web-page then I recommend FrontPage for the web page. The Microsoft Products work together.

Andy:
Well I hope u get your work to use FrontPage as you can easily use it with Interdev, the 2 products seem to mix very nicely, (they work well together).

I was wondering if Frontpage was better than Quark - I want to do a DTP Course after Xmas, I can't decide which to do!

I love Frontpage. Im trying to get ythem to use it at work instead of homesite.
We tend to use Linterdev more than anything though.
